My absolute favourite place to go in London, I adore the whole vibe that Camden town has it’s not like anywhere else in London at all.
It’s a very vibrant, bustling place that caters very much to the alternative scene. The streets are lined with rock/goth clothing shops my personal fave being Fairy Goth Mother on the Camden Lock.
The market area is fantastic, and very reasonably priced too which suprised me when I first went as I always expected everywhere in London to be ridiculously priced.
It’s definitely and experience visiting Camden and I’d highly recommend it to anyone and everyone, even if you don’t want to buy anything just go and soak up the atmosphere and take in the weird and wonderful sights the area has to offer.

I think “Camden Town” as a whole is a pretty tough order for a review…but I’ll give it a shot!
There is such a wide variety of things to see and do, and shops selling everything you could want, from clothes to art and even several places where you can get yourself pierced or tattooed!
There are always lots of characters about, from goths to punks to the general wierd and wonderful that London has to offer, all concenrated into one small pocket of mayhem!
There is a huge variety of places to drink, ranging from advisable to bring your own glass for hygene reasons to the actually very nice. Ditto places to eat.
I think its somewhere that you need to go to as the assualt on all the senses needs to be experinced rather than described

Camden Town is a must-see venue for all youths and Yuppies that reside in London. There are a great quantity of shops, and these shops are very cheap selling a wide range of items, especially a varying style of lots of clothes. There are a number of market areas in Camden, divided into stalls. It wouldn’t be hard to spend a day there, so leave plenty of time to see all the markets. Furthermore for nightlife, the Camden experience is a must as they have a decent quantity and quality of clubs and bars that will appeal to all consumer tastes. One such place is the Purple Turtle, which in the past has hosted drum n bass, indie and breakbeat nights.

If you really want to explore London, Camden Town is a must-see. It really is like visiting another country - everything is strange, outsized, colourful and dramatic! One of the things I love most about it is the huge contrast - turn left from the tube station and you’re walking down a normal high street with a superdrug, rosebys etc, but go right and you’re in the heart of the most unique part of London. Shop fronts are strange and almost grotesque, the wares in and outside shops are interesting and different, and the people on the street, more often than not, will have you doing a double take to check out their funky hair style or attire. There are a plethora of unusual shops - on the street, as well as numerous clothes shops, there is a card shop selling all sorts of interesting household items, and a circus shop, peddling diablos, juggling balls and unicycles. If you cross the lock and explore the market, you’ll come across a treasure trove of takeaway eating places, selling Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Greek and goodness knows what else. Many of these places serve fantastic food for decent prices - the Mexican stand is particularly good. I once visited Camden with a friend who refused to eat “street food” and went to KFC because she thought it would be healthier. She is so wrong… I have eaten in Camden many times and never had a problem.
The market is indoor and outdoor and has many shops, most selling unusual artwork, photographs and carvings or retro clothing (I once bought a skirt with paddington bear all over it and netting underneath…)Best of all, the atmosphere is fantastic. You will want to go back again.

Camden town is one of my favorite places to go on a Sunday afternoon. I used to live in Chalk Farm Camden and really miss that throbbing vibe of endless human activity. Camden never ceases to be a place where you can find something great to see and do, even just milling around the markets and chilling out is cool in Camden. Blue badge holders can park for 3 hours on yellow lines in Camden.

Definitely one of londons most strange and weird areas. Boasting the ever changing market and the zoo, Camden has no trouble establishing its own identity. For those only used to coming to the market on the weekends, do yourself a treat and try visit during the week. its a COMPLETELY different type of place, so much so that you might find it a bit disorientating. But it makes shopping there that much more fun.

Camden Town has managed to keep it’s weird and vibrant atmosphere for decades now. It used to be the heart of music, where everyone would flock to hang out with punks, see small venues or just to talk about music. There are many original stalls here. You can buy vibrant clothes, 4” platform shoes, vinyl, hand-made jewellery, cheap accessories, even rugs. Everywhere you go you will hear cool music.
There are a few chain stores around Camden Tube stop such as Superdrug, but the further you go down and into the market the more you’ll enjoy it. There are also a lot of good places here to get piercings and tattoos.

Camden has to be one of my favourite parts of London.
I’m not a big fan of the markets, not because there’s anything wrong with them, I’m just not overly fond of shopping. I do enjoying going to the market to eat, there are so many different types of food available in the market and in the summer it’s really nice to buy food and walk around.
There are some really nice pubs and restaurants on Camden Lock and in the summer it’s nice sitting outside and eating.
I don’t tend to venture down to the market or the lock much in the winter. I prefer to stay on Camden high street or parkway.
Camden Town has an amazing variety of food places, Thai, Chinese, Italian, pub food, Greek…just about whatever you want! The great thing about Camden is that you can get meals for a really good price. Most restaurants have lunch menu’s.
Camden Town is within walking distance of Regents Park and London Zoo so there’s plenty to keep you entertained in Camden Town.

I am sure everyone knows Camden Town so I just would like to say what I like about it. It is the atmosphere, the weirdness of the place.
The first time I went there, I was quite surprised when I saw all these people dressed in gothic clothes, the plane-shaped house, the shops selling stuff to smoke weed or even shops to find outfits to go to rave parties… Just weird…
Everything there is extravagant, abnormal: the music, the colours…
I like the market: Camdem Lock. It’s a nice market where you can find clothes, deco, accessories… But just like the place, it’s not normal stuff… Exceptional!
My favourite shop is the one I talked about above: it’s the one where you can find outfits for rave parties. The shop is just fantastic! It’s in the dark. There are only black lights. The outfits sold are fluorescent. I am not gonna describe the effect it has. If you want to know, you have to go :-)
