The only place I’ve ever seen that sells Duff beer, well, not the alcoholic stuff, but the branding is to the T if you’re ever dressing as Homer for a dress up.
There are sweeties from all over the world in this store - and you really do feel like a little kid looking at all the bright colours on the shelves. The only slight reality check is that you pay for the privaledge, with many of the sweeties costing quite a bit. But that’s often the price of nostalgia and new things, so stick your head in if you’re in the area.

So pleased was I to find this candy filled castle. I managed to pick some all time favourites such as Brazil nuts, sherbet lemons and liquorice allsorts. Some unusual finds were thrown in the mix too. These included: banana chocolates, yoghurt coated raisins and chocolate stones. The shop has a Japanese vibe about it, selling Hello Kitty and Japanese chocolates on sticks. Slush puppies are sold in every flavour going. This is the best pick’n’mix shop in the world or atleast mine.

A great place to get your fix for American candy! A little pricey and doesn’t carry EVERYTHING, but is generally a good sweet shop for something a little different than the traditional fair. Wish it was a big bigger, though.

Got a hankering for American and/or Japanese candy? Cyber Candy is your answer. The friendly staff will help you find whatever it is you’re looking for and recommend a few hidden gems that you’ve not heard of. Understandably it’s quite over priced and some of the items don’t travel well… but can you find this stuff somewhere else cheaper and in such a convenient place? Mug root beer + strawberry laffy taffy + a twinkie = e number heaven

This place is AWESOME. I just spent £50 in here. That’s right £50. I don’t feel guilty at all :)
I had so much fun picking out the sweets (and i got some pretty funny looks too with my armful of Haribo, Pop rocks, Reeses Pieces and Jolly Ranchers). “Do you work here?” one girl asked. “No”. I answered. But i kinda wish i did…... I could fill bath tubs full of skittles and re-enact Indian Jones moments with a red rope liquorice whip and a marshmallow chapeau.
OK, i’m getting carried away now.
Cybercandy is fantastic. Mecca for those with a sweet tooth or American’s looking for a slice of home. Highly recommended, teeth-rotting fun.

Edit- they have moved premises and are now HUGE!
My mouth is drooling while writing this review, to start with I first thought Cyber Candy had just a webiste this was back in 2006, but then last summer guess what I found..
..
..
The Cyber Candy Store in Covent Garden!
I was running in in there faster than a commuter going to the tube late for his meeting (Diddums!)
Well anyway, its quite a small shop but vast array of sweets just makes you look in oar, full of american sweets from Wonka to Tootsies, dont make me go on anymoreeee.
Don’t think by any stretch that this is a normal, everday yuk sweetshop. It is full of strange things for example I bught edible bubbles - literally a tub of bubbles which you blow then eat :O
Also be prepared to take plenty of money with you and not all the kids as you will be out of pocket very quickly as the bubbles alone what I bought were around £3.00.
So definatly worth a visit for american sweet lovers everywhere!

Sweeeeeeeets!!! Tons and tons of glorious new and amazing sweets!
I had walked past Cyber Candy on many an occasion, but never gone in for fear that it would be too expensive, mainly TV brands (the Simpson’s, etc.) or that I would just spend too much.
Well, the latter is true; but contrary to the sweets on display in the windows, it’s not all Simpson’s themed! (Although there’s a fair amount of American TV branded stuff)
I honestly could not believe my eyes when I saw some of the things in there, maybe the British are just sweet-prudes - how do we not make the same things over here? Saying that, according to their website, the wide range of flavoured Altoids they sell are actually made in Britain, we just don’t sell them. Weird.
I advise you to listen to Rob: don’t go to browse. I spent £13 in there, and I only left because I had someone waiting for me outside; I think I may have broken the bank otherwise.
There’s just too much stuff in there to list; but I nearly squealed with excitement when I found chocolate coated pretzels, made by the same people and in the same packaging as the ones I had when I was six years old, on holiday to NYC. Also, they have a range of ‘Willy Wonker’ sweets, which also bring back memories of my childhood, when they brought them out in the UK but stopped making them after about six months!
Be warned: the everlasting gobstoppers aren’t very everlasting :P
So if you are in London, here’s your to-do list for today:
Leave work early
Set a budget and a time limit
Go to Cyber Candy
Sit at home filled with memories, sugar and E-numbers, instead of that bottle of vodka :-)

I first discovered Cybercandy online at www.cybercandy.co.uk and it took me a while to actually realise they had a real, physical shop just a few miles away from my office in the West End.
My waistline and my teeth have not been the same since that fateful day, but let me tell you I am a happier, more content and definitely more hyperactive human being thanks to this discovery.
First things first: don’t go to Cybercandy to browse.
Browse sweets, are you kidding?
You will regress to the age of about 8 or 9 once you enter the door and (if you’re anything like me) you will just start grabbing handfuls of stuff just because it looks colourful or has the word NEW! on the front. This is proper impulse buying.
Cybercandy isn’t a retro sweetshop though, don’t go expecting cola cubes or Pear Drops. This is a ‘weird’ sweetshop i.e. confectionery you don’t normally find in this country. So there’s plenty of American treats like Hershey and Twinkies and weird flavoured M&Ms that you can’t normally get over here (peanut butter, dark chocolate….mmm).
Then there’s the Asian varieties, and this is where it gets seriously weird. Pitiful Dog is (as far as I can make out) a Japanese canine character who gets into horrible situations such as getting his head caught in a tyre. And they’ve based a line of sweets around him which contain a little plastic model of this poor dog in a sad situation. No one else in the office is going to have a ‘pitiful dog’ toy on their desk. Be the first!
As well as sweets they have great drinks in the fridge: Blak Cola (basically coffee flavoured, rocket fuel, coke), Cherry Diet Dr Pepper etc. And even classic US cereals like Cap’n Crunch and Fruit Loops.
The whole place is like an Aladdin’s Cave for sugar junkies. My favourites? Well I’m a bit of a licorice addict so I love Hershey’s Good and Plenty and I’m a big fan of the admittedly plasticy Strawberry Twizzlers.
It’s not exactly cheap here, they import all the stuff so you’re paying a bit extra just to be able to get this stuff on these shores but I would say a a monthly… ok maybe fortnightly treat, it’s absolutely worth a fiver… ok maybe a tenner, of anyone’s money.
Just don’t come crying to me when you’ve made yourself sick.

I love Cyber Candy! I first discovered it while I was in a serious sugar phase. They had all the sugar I was jonesing for from home (Canada)
I’m also a huge Japanese candy fan. Nothing says LOVE like a gift of poprocks candy floss and POCKY!
Anytime I’m feeling down and missing my home, a quick browse around Cyber Candy and a Canadian chocolate bar later I’m feeling good again.
American candy selection is massive but they also include Canadian candy - they so rock!
I suggest carefully selecting a budget both to spend and consume. You can literally make yourself sick on the candy! Pick a rate at which you expect to consume and purchase carefully.
Go to this shop - online or in the flesh - and just enjoy!
