Went to the Russian night last Friday. What a waste of time (and money) We were not told the place was nearly empty (at 12.15) No DJ only Russian MTV. Although nearly all the boothes were empty we were told we could only sit down if we bought a £200 bottle of champagne or gave the waiter £50. Having already parted with £40 for myself and 2 beautiful female companions we asked for our money back (you have to pay cash) ‘No can do’ was the answer so a very expensive 5 minutes. Smoking is allowed but if you could have more fun hanging yourself than spending a night here

Now it is amazing the amouunt of fun one can get in one outing! This place provides recreational fun for the affluent and very well to do. Taking the client back in time to childhood with loads of fun and games to excite the ‘part of the brain that reminisces on one’s childhood’, it then swiftly transports its guest to the future as adults with all the excitement and fun of adulthood. It’s crazy for some, weird for others and phenomenal still for another bunch! It could be described as magical and is definitely a mind-blowing experience.

This is a really lovely hang out spot, its a good mix between glam and chilled. the decor is very over the top and opulent, makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era or alternate universe! drinks are expensive, but then so are most drinks in this area of london, waitresses are not only beautiful but actually surprisingly friendly. haven’t eaten here but I’ve heard great things about the food from many friends.

I love HeyJo / Abracadabra for its unique decor and atmosphere. It's very laid back and always full of interesting characters, and gourgeous models thanks to Ultimate Characters model agency being located above. It's also one of the only places in London where you can still smoke a cigarette, cigar or shisha inside thanks to its smoking policy.

Wow, this must be the weirdest place I've been to yet... We were out scouting for good pubs for a pub crawl, had lost our bearings a little and just wanted to sit down and have a drink - anywhere - when we found ourselves in this random alleyway. The bright pink facade of Abracadabra lured us in...

Within was a long room decorated in the most eccentric and opulent manner, with a colourful mosaic floor, generally a lot of fabric in bright colours (mostly pink) square tables with big metal chairs with red plush velvet cushions, and a relatively odd collection of statues and ornaments from all over the world. Was that a big wooden penis in the corner? Yes, it was. At the end of this hall was an absolutely gigantic chandelier. And in the midst of it all - a little television showing Russian music videos, of all things.

There were hardly anyone else in there, and as we were starting to feel increasingly out of place the manager himself brought us the meny. Hmmm, the first ten pages or so were all different varieties of champagne... with the most expensive one at 60.000 pounds! We flicked quickly through the extensive menu to locate their beer section. They had one beer, called simply 'beer', at £7.50. Just as we were deciding to leave, the manager came up to us and quickly explained that he had 'forgotten' to tell us that this menu was for later and that at this hour they actually sold beer for £2 a bottle. Well, we were pretty sure he simply took pity on us (perhaps he had spotted my digital camera, for the occasion kept in an old sock - yup, I need to get that camera case!), but we thought we might as well stay and ordered our beer.

We tried to 'relax, show off, and generally feel fine', as their little promotion leaflet says, as best we could, but I didn't feel that fine in my washed-out H&M hoodie compared to the waitresses, all very beautiful, strutting past in their trendy and elegant clothing. Anyway, as we stood up to leave the manager insisted on showing us their toilets. Indeed, they were quite something - check out the photos. In the mens room, which I didn't see naturally, the toilet were statues of women in a sort of toilet-bowl pose, and the toilet in the ladies was actually hidden inside some strange blue silk jewel-encrusted egg! I was literally speechless. The taps, though, made me wonder whether this wasn't perhaps some weird sex club. Well, perhaps it was. I think I'll never know, as it seems rather unlikely I'll come back here any time soon...
