Compliment Jürgen Barthel (26-06-2008) •••••
I have to seperate the different parts.
Team: The team is very nice, attentive and friendly and leaves a competent impression.
Eye laser: General: I would do it always again, but would then also check for alternatives.
The company: With a large margin, EuroEyes operates at the upper end of the price scale. Prices drop permanently, but for me the difference was about € 1.500 for both eyes. With the reputation, the company actively maintains and markets and these upscale prices, one should and I did expect “perfect process”. That did not work with me unfortunately.
I had -6 diopties and today walk around without classes (no contact lenses either). But a ametropia of +1,25 remains and that only, after a second, necessary operation.
The first operation was done in a matter of less than 10 minutes (with the checks before, less than an hour) and completely painless. The second operation in contrast was unbearably painful - the reason, I did not push for the (in my eyes necessary) third operation. Further, I since tend to “dry eyes” and instead of the cost for glasses (or contacts) I now have permanent and repeating cost for eye fluid.
A eye doctor has checked the results and says, it would not be an issue (as EuroEyes keeps telling me) of presbyopia, but of “suboptimal correction”. So who shall I now believe?
Sure: With -6 dioptries you can’t do anything without glasses. Now I need them only in case of bad light, small writing or short distance (i.e. the book at night, but also quite some cases of small print in supermarkets. But at least, I (working much with the computer) can work without glasses on my laptop (on the lap). A difference like night and day. But after a second (correction) operation, I would have expected their experience to return results meeting their own advertising and marketing. The check results by the other (independent) eye doctor was simply frustrating and has shattered my confidence in EuroEyes! When the presbyopia then develops, it can lead quickly again to the need for glasses - not a nice outlook!
Therefore: Eye lasering is definitely worth a recommendation! Nevertheless, only two stars for the result, missing the self-proclaimed standards “visibly”. Sure it is better than before, but there is a lot, a great lot space for improvement.
