Always a good night here, doesn’t matter which night. They have everything from drum n bass on a monday to breaks on a thursday to electro and house every weekend. Layo and Bushwacka! have done some epic sets here over the years.

Best club in London hands down if you love good quality/big name/loud music/down and dirty dance, techno and electro.
With the calibre of resident DJs you get at The End, you can’t be wrong. Laurent Garnier, Groove Armada etc - you get the world’s best.
Drinks are overpriced, but the sound system and big party nights make it worth it. Everyone needs to lose their weekend to The End at least once.

Ok, right, I’m not a clubber.

In my rather hectic youth I did all that stuff, and I would’ve understood all the things written in all the other reviews of this place.

However, I am a boring person these days and I prefer sleep to notsleep.

I came here for an awards party. There was a free bar that ran out (minus a half star) and the cloakroom cost £1.50 (minus a half star). It seemed like a pretty cool venue though, and it was packed. Choc-a-bloc. Rammed.

Another downside was the fact that there was a distinct odour of, shall we say ‘toilet’, coming up from the toilets which they tried to mask with incense sticks. I suffered a double blow from this, as I could clearly smell shit and the incense fell on me and burned my arm (minus a star).

As people on newspapers like to say, this club is a "tour de force" for any serious eletronic music lover. Owned by Layo (from Layo & Bushwacka), it always brings good dj's (I remember when I saw Vitalic play there, unforgettable) and there's a good atmosphere about it that I can't really explain, although the queues for everything - getting drinks, leaving your jacket in the cloakroom, going outside to smoke - can be REALLY anoying in the busy nights. I particularly like the mondays, when DURRR takes place: electrorock with guest bands and acts, a trendy crowd and always a lot of fun (although I have to admit that Erol Alkan's Trash was still better).

This is definitely one of the best clubs i have recently been to. It hosts some of the best new dj talents around so watch that space for the next big thing! It attracts a hige range of different people, to be honest, the only thing in common that everyone has (and the only thing they need) is the love for the music. Always a great atmosphere, never any nasty or scary situations. Drinks (especially beers) are surprisingly cheap and bar staff are very efficient, and yet do not have sour faces like most bar staff in clubs. generally, go with the intention of dancing until you drop dead, guaranteed a fabulous time.

Just felt I should add my opinion on this place, because it is open until the wee hours nightly and a must-have on any clubbers' destination list. Especially if you can't face the night bus or are waiting for the tubes to re-open.

It is open to around 7am on weekends, and costs between £7 and £15 to get in depending on the acts that are on. The dress code is also strictly upheld, so keep it smart or cool (think indie/electro smart, not interview smart).

The queues can be long too, so bring a coat and invest in the cloakroom.

I have seen bands play here too, and it's a very intimate experience, usually with a floor-level roped off area. If you enjoy your music, its definitely worth trying out.

The End totally rocks! Can't remember having had so much fun in ages!

But I'll try to give a somewhat more informative account. The End is an absolutely awesome club hosting various events ranging from drum and bass and indie/alternative to house/techno/electro pretty much every day of the week. The main room is a double-arched tunnel with the dj booth in the middle; big speakers at either end of the tunnel pumping out the music and possibly the best sound system in the London club scene (or so my more experienced clubbing friends say) make sure you won't miss a beat. There is also a smaller lounge with a different dj right next to the bar and there are a few seats if you need to sit down. A better chill-out zone, however, would be the AKA bar upstairs, a sister venue of the End which hosts events of its own (apparently they do a Sunday morning post-club event with more djs and tea and scones which starts at 5.30 am!). It was nice to be able to go upstairs and be able to relax and have a chat, it's also a plus that you don't have to pay for water there (all that dancing will make you thirsty).

The night I went was the Underwater records party, featuring internationally acclaimed house-guru Darren Emerson, Jon Carter and Deepgroove. I think I'll never forget the moment I descended the stairs down into the underground party mayhem - just hundreds of very happy people dancing ecstatically to the music - amazing. And the music was indeed fantastic - two days on it's as if I can still feel the beats in my body! Can't wait to go again.
