There are 2 CEX stores in Central London, The Rathbone one and the TCR one (Im reviewing the latter).

The TCR store focuses more on Mobiles, MP3 Players and computers than games and DVDs but still has a large range of them and many DVDs start from only 50p!

The staff are helpful, but may seem geekish to those that are just casual shoppers.

Also know as Cex, the Computer Exchange has rapidly become my favourite choice of games shop, mainly due to the trade-ins they do. You get a fair bit more for games in here in just cash than you do in most Game stores for instance. If you take credit however, you can get even more! This, for an in-debt student, is very appealing.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but that’s probably because I was on the same wavelength as them and we could relate. I fear this place is a bit geeky though for the average consumer, and as such, they might be scared away. More so because the place looks more like a trade-counter than a Electronic entertainment store. But it does the job I suppose.

Three stars due to off-putting decor and more of a trade look than a retail one. I’ll still go back though, especially for trades.

To be fair, you won't necessarily get the cheapest deal on products in CeX, but it's well worth checking out for 2 reasons: it's open until 7.30pm/8pm all week, so you can grab a last minute present; and secondly because it has plenty of stuff that might be out of stock elsewhere.

Case in point, the branch on Rathbone Place is currently stocking Wiis, when no one else in central London appears to have any.

Generally the staff are pretty pleasant, but remember these people are geeks, so you aren't going to get any technical help in here. However, the range and cheapness of both games and DVDs in Cex is excellent. I really enjoy browsing their sections, since I always find something for under £10 that appeals.

They also stock manga films.
