Vilanova's main beach lies to the south of the town, alongside the suburb of Ribes Roges. Protected by a series of breakwaters and the headland of Sant Gervasi, it is a magnificent stretch of sand 1.3km long and 100m wide.

Facilities include cafes, a miniature railway, water and beach sports, beach showers, a Red Cross Post, Tourist Information (at the north end) and WCs, some of which have disabled access. The water is shallow, making it very popular in summer with water sports fans and families alike. It is backed by a magnificent palm-lined promenade with car-parking and a cycle-way, excellent for a stroll at any time of the year.

The central breakwater is notable for the distinctive modern bronze sculpture depicting Pasiphaë and the White Bull of Minos, whose union gave birth to the Minotaur. The beach to the south of this is technically called Adarro beach, named after the remains of the Iberic-Roman settlement nearby.
