An adorable little city farm. Tucked away behind the bustle of Vauxhall, this farm is a lovely spot to while away an hour or so. There are flopsy rabbits, splendid chickens - one especially had the most feathered-feet I have ever seen!- lazy pigs, goats and a lovely lambs you can pet, it is so cute. I loved it.

Delightful free “farm” run by volunteers. Has a great variety of animals that kids and adults will enjoy. They also run subsidised riding lessons (there’s a huge waiting list!) to give kids the opportunity to reconnect with nature and the outdoors through horses. A registered charity, VCF also gives Riding for the Disabled Lessons and provides workshops/activity days for school children.

This farm is a massive surprise for anyone wandering through Vauxhall. It’s very small but there are a surprising amount of animals to go and see. They have rabbits that can be held, mewling goats, sheep, ferrets, horses…. They even have llamas, which are definitely not as friendly as ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’ would have us think. The pigs are lovely and roll over if you scratch their belly. So if you want a wholesome day out (well if you have half an hour to kill) go to the farm, it’s a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of vauxhall.

Vauxhall City Farm is one of the smaller city farms I have been to. It has no cafe or tea rooms but boasts nice big pens for the rabbits which look very happy indeed. Being a big donkey fan I was disappointed to find she wasn't at home the day I called in, however there were 2 enormous pigs which were quite happy for us to pet them and made delightful snoring sounds as we stood watching them. There is a riding school attached which has what seemed to be quite reasonably priced lessons.

Linus, 28 November 2007: I used to live in Vauxhall and it was actually quite a while before I discovered this farm existed. But I'm glad I did! It's such a great city-haven and right next to the horrendous traffic nightmere that is Vauxhall Cross.
