I was very impressed with this Miso. I rang beforehand because I took a couple of friends who have an allergy to alliums (onions, chives, leeks, garlic, yada yada) so you can imagine how difficult it is for them to find anything suitable, especially with South East Asian food. Miso said it was no problem and they were true to their word! My friends were thrilled with the choices they had and the food was good in general. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. So it’s not (the Asian food equivalent of) Cordon Bleu or anything but it hits the spot and leaves your wallet intact. I’ve reviewed the other Miso on the High Street as well.

If you are looking for a Japanese restaurant in Croydon and a cheaper alternative to Wagamama, you should try Miso.

But as they say, you get what you pay for, and i wasn't too impressed with Miso, especially compared to Wagamama which is just across the road from it.
Personally, i think they'd do better if they had a bigger menu, maybe something like Sushi or Bento. The ramen is very bland tasting compared to most Japanese restaurants, but it is still a nice treat if you don't have much change in your pocket.

Miso, like Wagamama, is also conveniently just around the corner from Croydon college, so it's perfect for any hungry students who fancy something a little different and healthier than McDonalds.

The busier of the two Croydon Miso Noodle Bars, so if you're in between the two places, go to the other one on High Street, close to the Flyover where you're much more likely to get a table. (Weird how Croydon gets two of these places, but I guess they get enough business to justify it.)

A good selection of Asian food - noodles, rice dishes, dumplings, &c. - and decent enough service to get you in and out in a lunch hour. Portions are massive so only order a starter in addition to your main if you're confident you'll get away with sleeping for the rest of the working day.

Recommended: the Singapore fried noodles are nicely curried and spiced. The Pad Thai noodles are a good second choice.
