Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 23 October 2011

Anybody who gives this place a rating of more than two either works for them or has never tasted good japanese food.

The food is filled with oil and oil and oil.Even the chicken wings is filled with oil .Food is bland and tasteless.

I should have known better when I went in to order. The place was empty on a Saturday night.

I used to eat here regularly, but have cut back to save money.
I have tried just about every dish on the menu, and most of them are very good. I love the dumplings!
A starter, main plus a drink for £10 is reasonable price I think. Recommended for a tasty filling meal.

Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 28 May 2009

Great value for money, the portion sizes are huge. The place can get very busy which means it get loud as it is just a large room with benches in it. You can turn up an usually get a table, if not there is only ever a short wait. The food comes out whenever it is ready but dishes come out so quickly that there is not much of a wait between them.

Good food, fast service, large portions. Great for a quick meal in the lunch hour.

Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 3 May 2009

Worst delivery service ever. They struggle to get a complete order correct, and when complaining they are extremely rude and arrogant. After asking them to replace an incorrect dish, they reluctantly agreed after I talked to their manager. Several minutes later, I received a phone call saying that they were going to charge me for it. They also had the nerve of saying since I was 4.6 miles from the store they were going to charge me the delivery fee again and I would have to order another 2 dishes. Unbelievable - after being a regular customer, I will not be going anywhere near them again.

Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 5 October 2008

Great for a quick lunch if you don’t mind that they bring the food out when it is ready and not at the same time for everyone in the group. Can get very crowded, and very noisy as it has wooden floor and benches, but the food is excellent - eaten there loads of times and never had a duff one yet! And whats more the price is great too - about £5 - £6 for a main course which includes either rice or noodles

Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 18 January 2008 (updated on 18 September 2008)

If you are looking for a Japanese restaurant in Croydon and a cheaper alternative to Wagamama, you should try Miso.

But as they say, you get what you pay for, and i wasn’t too impressed with Miso, especially compared to Wagamama which is just across the road from it.
Personally, i think they’d do better if they had a bigger menu, maybe something like Sushi or Bento. The ramen is very bland tasting compared to most Japanese restaurants, but it is still a nice treat if you don’t have much change in your pocket.

Miso, like Wagamama, is also conveniently just around the corner from Croydon college, so it’s perfect for any hungry students who fancy something a little different and healthier than McDonalds.

Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 16 July 2008

I was very impressed with this Miso. I rang beforehand because I took a couple of friends who have an allergy to alliums (onions, chives, leeks, garlic, yada yada) so you can imagine how difficult it is for them to find anything suitable, especially with South East Asian food. Miso said it was no problem and they were true to their word! My friends were thrilled with the choices they had and the food was good in general. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. So it’s not (the Asian food equivalent of) Cordon Bleu or anything but it hits the spot and leaves your wallet intact. I’ve reviewed the other Miso on the High Street as well.

Review of Miso Noodle Bar from 27 November 2007

The busier of the two Croydon Miso Noodle Bars, so if you're in between the two places, go to the other one on High Street, close to the Flyover where you're much more likely to get a table. (Weird how Croydon gets two of these places, but I guess they get enough business to justify it.)

A good selection of Asian food - noodles, rice dishes, dumplings, &c. - and decent enough service to get you in and out in a lunch hour. Portions are massive so only order a starter in addition to your main if you're confident you'll get away with sleeping for the rest of the working day.

Recommended: the Singapore fried noodles are nicely curried and spiced. The Pad Thai noodles are a good second choice.
