I am quite a fan of Camden Town and just love the variety that greets you but it’s one hell of a tiring day out. Great place to drag overseas visitors to as it reflects the fusion of London itself. But I would avoid it on a Sunday as just pushing along the streets is quite a struggle and it really is a market town that can feel too busy.
Apart from the market, there are pubs and restaurants in the area that our worth checking out as well as some great little fancy dress stores.
If you’ve got a stern stomach the different food up for grabs can be quite tasty and quite cheap. And if you’re really hanging on for pay day, it gets cheaper in the afternoon when the lunch rush is over and the piles of sweet and sour 'chicken’ and pizza slices are screaming to be eaten.

had a great wonder around here a few weeks ago, was so weird , a lot like aflecks palace in manchester but spead out.
went to a FAB little food stal called KIM’S VIETNAMESE, and for a fiver i got a HUGE veg samosa and a massive serving of noodles and this gorgeous beef and veg satay kinda curry thing.
aw it was so good.
would like to have had more time to really look round, some shops basically sold the same old junk but was pretty cool non the less

I really love Camden. It is fun and full of great crap. I say crap in the nicest way because anything you buy, you never set out specifically for.. like wow I love my elephant shaped lamp or I always wanted a bong shaped like a pasty.

Just weird fun stuff and mixed in are souvineer shops with crazy shirts, scarves, shoes, leather and everything you need to make your flat a little more bohemian. You can also get pierced, tattooed, hung drawn and quarted.. the lot. The shops are endless and very close to the tube. You can easily spend hours here shopping or just browsing. Prices are reasonable and some places will negotiate with you especially if you are hot and have a nice rack.

There are also a lot of great places to eat in the food alley where you are heckled and practically have food samples thrown at you. The food is good, plentiful and you can get a big bowl of anything with a drink for less than a fiver.

I would definitely recommend this place and bring all my visitors here.

Camden market is fabulous for everyone. Full of a HUGE variety of stores/shops/stalls, you can literally find everything there. I’d avoid it on a Sunday, as not only is that when it’s the most crowded, but the Tube station becomes exit-only in the afternoon, making it a long walk to Mornington Crescent to get home!

In the central part of the market near the lock are loads of food stands offering from Ethiopian to Argentinian to Japanese food for you to eat. Love it.

Camden has changed a great deal over the few years I have been in London. There are still great finds to be had but it is now geared to the more gothic/emo type crowd. You used to be able to find vintage bargains in the seocnd hand shops but now everything seems to cost a fortune and be all black, studded, metal and fetishy! It is a place to visit when you are in London just for the experience but I wouldn’t reccommend it for serious shoppers.

This is the best part of Camden. By far. There are different cultures around you, who you can interact with. everyone is just so friendly.I always love going camden. This market sells all different things, from food to shoelaces. There are different stalls selling different things. The best is the stall with the funny t-shirts. The funny sayings make you want to buy them which is great because you know you arnt wasting your money. Camden is just the best place to get social and meet people and hang out with people you know.
You should definately go there.

Love camden the amount of cultures that can intermix and there be no problem is great. The market used to be the best but since the lock got burnt down and now the main focus is on the other part of the market the prices seem to have considerable gone up. But if youre lookin fo shopping with a great atmosphere then this is the place to go!

Possibly Camden’s major attraction is the large weekend market. It’s actually open every day but Sunday is the best time to visit and the busiest. It is at weekends that the market opens and attracts all forms of local life. There are many stalls and shops offering a variety of goods from antiques, artisan craftwork, household accessories and furniture. There are also plenty of places to eat with a wide range of ethnic choices on offer. The market is said to attract 100,000 bargain hunters every weekend and there are some real fashion bargains to be found if you’ve got the patience to wander around. There are some smashing bargains with shoes, handbags and leather gear in general. The stalls sell everything from handcrafted goods to more or less anything you can imagine. In particular there seems to be a speciality here for retro1950s fashion. But you don’t have to shop, you can instead just wander about and observe the eccentric array of weirdly and wonderfully attired characters that come to this place. It is in many ways a market place of eccentricities.

Getting there is easy, just take the Northern Line to Camden Town or if you’re travelling by car head towards Kilburn and you should see road signs with directions.

This is a must see when visiting london. It has such a mix of goods that it will please any one. It has cheap goods, expensive goods, well made goods and bric a brac! There are food places including cafes, sweets, buns and cakes, full on meals such as thai and chinese - and there are crepes!!! :)
It really is a shoppers paradise.
I once visited camden to pick up some cheap gear and left with a vivien westwood corset that was worth £800. I have since sold it and lets just say i made a tidy profit!!!

Very much worth a visit even if you are not planning on buying anything!

This place is an alternative fashionista's DREAM. It's LOADED with clothes & accessories from gothic to punk to cute anime type stuff!!!
Take the tube to Camden & just start walking & exploring the different markets and shops. The goods are all over!! The fun ends at 6pm though so you better get there early! :)
Go any day of the week its just as good & if you're worried about the tragic fire putting an end to the market, it didn't.

Paradise on earth for teen goths, emos, earthmothers, musos, Spanish tourists, yanks, arty types, indie fans, drug dealers and kids on a day trip from their private home counties sixth form college. However, an exciting buzzing place for all that. Tons of arty crafty stuff including the latest offerings from London's up-and-coming fashion designers. Plenty of retro kitsch stuff alongside all the student posters, stripy knee socks, 12-hole Dr Martens and furry handcuffs. The food here is good and value for money, especially in The Stables market where there's a whole clutch of world food and outside canteens - no excuse to go to Starbucks or Pret - when there's fresh crepes, noodles. The pubs are rock n roll too. And of course there's more Pete Doherty hats than you can shake a stick at.

Walking around Camden markets is entertainment personified. With the variety of people, styles and things to be found here you can’t get bored. On top of the entertainment value, you can shop to your heart’s delight on anything from punk accessories to eastern décor to vintage clothing. Stretching from the main market just north of the Camden station, there are markets all the way up Camden High Road to the Stables. There is take-away from every country, so you can’t go hungry. There is bars for every taste, so you can’t go thirsty. And there are stalls of every variety and description. Add that to the constant entertainment value and whatever you purchase will seem a bargain!

Clothes from all over the world, second hand fur coats, great fake designer bags, jewellery , sunglasses. Lots of arty things and a great atmosphere. Lots of diversity in people...Always busy and a great experience

I love camden market. There are so many parts, stalls, shops and things to see now. It is bigger than ever now, starting from a small group of stalls, has not grown into a world wide, well known shoppers market. There are so many food places its so difficult to choose what you fancy! From sandwichs, doughnuts, corn on the cob, burgers, chinese, thai, indian, morrocan, crepes, and so much more! There are so many different shops, and so many bargains to be found. Unfortunately there are plans for shutting the market for building of a shopping centre! This breaks my heart as this is the ONE place to go, as there is so much history and little perfections to see and do. So my advice would be to go and find find buy see see see before the goverment rein it with yet another topshop. Love it.
