Review of Zanzibar hotel from 21 November 2008

This is a great place to go for a short romantic break. All the luxury you could ask for, a friendly welcome and magnificent sea views.

Mr CuteBadger and I had the Africa room which is right at the top of the house so it was a bit of climb, but the views certainly made it worth the climb.

You’re welcomed with a glass of champagne and from then on can help yourself from the honest bar downstairs. The staff are friendly and helpful, but leave you alone if you want some peace and quiet.

Breakfast is served in the Grand Salon with views over the sea - the food is beautifully prepared and comes in large portions. There’s a wide range available for breakfast from smoothies and fruit plates to the full English.

I went to the Zanzibar in winter when the seaside walks are bracing and the sea dramatic, but it would be just as nice in summer when you could take advantage of the beach towels provided in the rooms.

Review of Zanzibar hotel from 2 December 2007

This hotel is a dream from the moment you get there and meet max the owner...who handed me a glass of champers and my hubbie a bud!
Its a massive 5 story victorian house with a massive breakfast room complete with fantastic sea views, wooden floors, victorian fireplace and a telescope to nose with!
The rooms are all themed,evocative egypt,bijou bali,impulsive india,sensual south america,mythical morocco,alluring antarctica,just japan,....all are amazing.
The breakfast here are massive and include more champers...the price of the rooms are all slightly different ours was £140.00 per room per night and well worth it to treat yourself.
Things we didnt like...
There is a £20.00 Supplement on a friday and saturday night even if you stay 2 nights!!
Also if you pay on a credit card they add 5%...thats alot and for what???
But over all fantastic!
