9 reviews of Hannahs Bar in English
My company recently had our christmas party at Hannahs…christmas party in January?…..yep, we are caterers too and there’s no way it could’ve happened before xmas. Anyway, 120 of us trundled off to this venue with high expectations. Before I tell you of our experience let me tell you if you put 120 people in their early 20’s in a room with a pre-paid bar, a great dj and good food, there’s going to be high spirits and lots of over indulgence….say no more! I’d like to thank the team at Hannahs for making our christmas party the best yet. The girls on the bar were brilliant and really looked after us. The management, Sophie inparticular, had it well organised and the function rooms looked stunning. Most of our staff are regulars at Hannahs and it was them who decided on going there- we were not let down. Well done to all who worked on the night-good friendly service with a decent range of beers, top music, a nice buffet and a great looking function room. We’ll be back soon- best bar in the area!

i dont agree with the other reviews. banter with the doormen, friendly staff, hot looking guys, cheap drinks, good music.. what more do you want?!
we had our daughters communion in hannahs, on 12th june 2011. we paid a lot of money for a buffet(600 pounds) and we also added seafood and gateuxs as well at our own cost. Their contribution was one table of poor quality food, which was a disgrace. We complained the next day as we didnt want to spoil the party, but was met with attitude as poor as the food. We wont be using hannahs again
This place has really lost it's essense, they used to serve nice food & I used to adore the soup, but now it's all changed. The portions have gotten smaller & instead of getting a whole ciabatta with the soup, you now get two measly finger sized slices of it. Poor quality.
Hannah’s was really good last year, and lively however it got re-done a few months ago and it lost its edge for me. It has turned into some kind of swanky bar now which doesnt really sit well with me. The old hannah’s was a normal bar which was chilled out and relaxing. The new one however seems as though its trying to be something it is not at least not to me due to me seeing the old hannah’s! Hopefully i will get over it and try it again with an open mind, maybe i will change my mind a second time around after the refurb! Quite a shame really, loved it there last year!
sigh.
I agreed with the other reviewers in every way, up until about 4 months ago. Hannah’s had a refurbishment, and It Was Not Good.
They’ve bought horrible furniture, paved over the outdoor bit and, well, their soul. Now there’s lots of space, uncomfortable seats, overpriced drinks and .. well it’s got no soul.
An example? Well I’ve been told (so i don’t actually know) that the DJ’s now have to stick to a music code.
I don’t know whether they still do the jazz on a Wednesday.
If you want good jazz, pop up to The Caledonia on Catherine street on a friday night for the best jazz night I’ve been to since Hannah’s imploded.
I’ve only ever been to this bar on a Wednesday night, but this is when the Liverpool Jazz scene hit this great bar. The regular rhythm section accompanies a variety of guest soloists from young up and coming talent to more mature instrumentalists.
The bar is well stocked and fairly priced. There is huge patio for smokers and al fresco drinking during the warmer months
This bar is a trendy establishment serving a wide range of beers and wines. Its simple decor and practical lay out make for a enjoyable pint or three, with relaxed music in the background. The music is a key factor at hannahs bar, it ranges from live jazz to open mic or live bands. This allows for the clientel to be diverse. Upstairs is normally hired out for private functions and parties, and is ideal for a birthday or celebration. In the day they serve bar snacks which are affordable and you get massive portions. Overall then a solid trendy bar for students. For a big night out or just a few pints.
Hannah's is a plain and simple bar and that's its best selling point for me...that and the friendly bar staff who always serve with a smile!
It's stylish, but without fancy frills, and is somewhat evocative of a trendy Manhattan cocktail bar. In fact, there's nothing better than sitting down with a corona and friends in Hannah's.
Football is also sometimes shown on the big screen, but it manages to avoid the loud football fans and therefore offers the perfect place to catch the game!
On busier nights they also open up a heated outdoor area with decking and the upstairs bar is often used as a party or live music venue. If you pick the right night, you can also seem some great live music in the open-mic nights!
One of Liverpool's hidden gems!
