My hair experience here was fantastic. The girl who cut and coloured my hair knew exactly how I wanted it, and wasn't too enthusiastic and also wasn't negative either, she really put me at ease for wanting such a radically short haircut and bleached look. Very good quality work, Professionalism, decor and customer service.
I moved to London about 8 month ago and I was struggling to find a good hair dresser. I have tried a few hair salon but it was absolutory awful. I went one of well-known franchising hair salon in Bishopsgate and they gave me an uneven haircut and full head high lights which was not full head at all. I had no choice to go other hairdresser to fix it but unfortunately they did not fix my hair properly. I ended up with shorter and brighter hair.. I was desperate to find a good hairdresser so I asked my friend at work where she goes because her hair is always nice. I booked a Full head highlights and cut with Francesco and he fixed may hair and made my hair exactly how I wanted! My highlights colour is brilliant and a hair is very smooth and feels great. Thank you!

Really disappointing appointment for a Brazilian blow dry today. A male stylist (not the manager) was laughing and joking with his previous client, which made him 15 mins late for my appointment. Not a problem, the very nice receptionist got me a coffee and I waited patiently.
As soon as I sat in the chair, the stylist’s friendly attitude changed. He started by telling me all the negatives of the treatment (loss of hair volume, change in hair colour). Then he said I would have to pay extra, probably about £30, ‘depending on how much product is used’. I asked whether he could use less product. He said he couldn’t guarantee anything. Having come home and checked my groupon voucher, it does say in the small print that ‘Long or thick hair may incur a surcharge’. My hair is certainly not thick and while not short, is not particularly long. While I should have questioned this when I received the voucher, I find it unethical that a service is advertised at a discount and then there is mention of extra payment in the small print without any real indication of who is going to incur this payment. How do you define ‘long hair’? Why is this in small print and not made clearer?
The stylist then told me that I didn’t have to stay and could ask for a refund. This hadn’t even occured to me. I wasn’t best pleased about the surcharge but was quite happy to stay as I wanted the treatment. When I told him I had already paid he said I should contact Groupon and ask for a refund. His attitude was so negative and unfriendly that I walked out of the salon. The receptionist followed me out and apologised. She said I could contact her if there were any problems with a refund but that if I wanted to rebook she would make sure she got me an appointment with the manager, instead of this man. I got the impression she thought I had not been very well treated.
It is not the surcharge that upset me, although I really don’t like the way the company sneak that in on a discount site. It was the fact that I had a strong feeling from the beginning that the stylist didn’t want me there and had no interest in selling the service to me. I have never had that kind of experience in a salon before. It was really very unpleasant.
Got a Brazilian blow dry from Francesco Picardi the other day. My sister bought me a deal from Groupon which was nice. The treatment took a while but I must say my hair looks great today, now I know why everyone has been raving about it. I hear they can last around 3 months so money well spent in my opinion.
I have been to Francesco Picardi twice, once for a brazillian blow dry and the second time for a cut and colour. Service I received both times was excellent. New Salan atmosphere and decoration is really nice. Friendly staff who most importantly did not try and sell me the most expensive treatment as I was unsure exactly what I wanted. Would definitely return and have already booked.
I have just had a haircut and colour at Francesco's new salon on Pitfield Street. Love the new place. Francesco never fails to deliver a perfect cut and colour. I always feel like a new woman when he's worked his magic with my hair!Will definately recommend
Do not go to this salon. I purchased a brazilian blow dry from Groupon and the experience and result were equally poor. The stylist was 20 minutes late back from her extended lunch and then proceeded to drench me while washing my hair, catch my ear with the comb every time she ran through it, and burnt my ear wiht the straighteners.
To make matters worse my hair looked no different following the treatment and when I called to speak to the manager he was totally uninterested and then failed to call me back when he said he would.
A waste of money and a terrible experience.
I first went to Francesco in November 2010 with a Groupon voucher for a Brazilian blow dry. I was very apprehensive initially as I have afro hair and I wasn't sure whether the keratin products he would use would work on my hair. So when I made the appointment I aired my concerns and I was reassured by Francesco himself that it would be and they knew how to work with Afro hair which gave me some confident. However he advised me to come and get a consultation and he would only do it based on that and it was up to me if decided to go ahead or not. On the day of appointment within 5mins of sitting down I was given a consultation by Francesco and he assured me that the products they had would work on my hair and they knew how to do afro hair and it was up to me if i wanted to go ahead or not, I was very impressed with welcome and consultation that received that i decided to go ahead with the appointment. Although it wasn't Francesco who did my hair that day i was very impressed with whole service from beginning to end so much so that i gave the girl who did my hair a big tip which is highly unusual for me but I had been so impressed with her professionalism and attention to detail.
I went back to Francesco in April 2011 as I needed another Brazilian blow dry done and my hairdresser at the time was using different keratin products and i didn't want to change. Again I had a consultation with Francesco and this time he was the one who did my hair. I felt he was very attentive and advised me to try and treat my hair regularly with the keratin after care products to help solve my damaged hair. Again I felt the service i received was on par with my initial visit few months back, as a result i have been going to Francesco ever since pretty much every week and have ditched my old hairdresser. I have since had my hair coloured, cut and treated all by Francesco as i book all my appointments directly with him and have been happy every time. Today i have just had my third brazilian blow dry and i'm very happy with the results and i now have healthy shiny hair. I have had so many compliments over my hair and i have recommended him to friends. Yes he is a quirky italian but he knows what he is doing!
I've been a (male) customer of Francesco's for more than a year and I am always very pleased by his cuts. Just yesterday again I got complimented on the latest one. It's too bad he is always so busy these days what with the increased business in the new location, but I'm sure this be ironed out shortly. I never used to have haircuts in that price range, however it's clearly worth it. I always book with Francesco himself, since I know he'll always do a perfect job.
Mother nature didn't bless me with great hair unfortunately and I'm very difficult to please when it comes to having my hair done. I've been to different salons including the most expensive ones but was never entirely satisfied. However when I first had my hair cut by Francesco 3 years ago I haven't been to different salon since. Not only he gets the hair cut right every time but my hair is left in such a great shape and condition after the blowdry that I delay washing my hair for as long as I can after that :)) Thank you Francesco! And well done with the new salon, the staff is super friendly, nice atmosphere, a pleasure to visit. See you soon!
I went there with a groupon voucher to do a brazilian blow dry. I already done it before in another salon. They were very friendly, but this is not what I am waiting for from a hairdresser.
It wasn't francesco who take care about me, but someone else and at 6pm when there were about to close. He was hurring and It took me 1 hour and a half (instead of 3 before). I was happy the night after, but saw the next morning that my hair were curling already!!! I realised that they did not touch my hair roots, base wasn't treated at all...
I spend more than £100 for nothing. My haircut wasn't straight and I had to cut some of my hairs on the front alone...
I am an honest person and I sent them an email to solve this issue, of course; I did not get any answer.
Last bad bad point is that you have to pay by paypal, and it's not written or said. I really don't like that, they have to copy your card number and you don't have a proper ticket...
I whent again to Francesco Picardi on Old street to have mi coulour done, I had an opoinment with the color director(Nathan), and I need to say that I was very impresed from begining to end, First of all we talked about what colour I would like, than he explained how important is to chose something that suits my skin tone, eyecolor, and take in consideration the quality of mi hair(was previously bleached a lot as I like to be blonde). He managed to creat 3 shades of blond and all that without using bleach, My hair is shiny and feals soft, Thank yoy very much for saving my hair and still give me the blond that I love so much. The after care producthe Nathan recomended to me are amaising, especialy the natural oil for lenght and ends. Surely I will be going to see Nathan again.
Great customer service - very proffesional approach and attentive hairdressers.

I went to see Francesco after having suffered a terrible haircut at the hands of another hairdresser. He managed to turn my badly cut, badly styled and frizzy hair into a stylish smart cut.
The studio in Hoxton is also a beautiful space flooded with light. Not at all what you would expect from the front.
I left thrilled and have recommended him to my friends.
Francesco is a nice albeit quirky guy.
Pluses: styling technique, lovely ambience.
Minuses: blow-drys do not have staying power, limited product range, and when I went recently on a kgb voucher, he skimped on the package (ie, I didn't quite receive everything I was supposed to).
Ok... but I prefer Taylor & Taylor slightly eastward.
I have recently visited Francesco Picardi hair salon, to be honest i was a little apprehensive about going to this salon as i wanted a complete restyle and i was extremely nervous after reading these comments but im glad i decided to experience the salon for myself. My stylist David really listened to my needs and straight away put me at ease, he also recommended "the complete makeover" package at discounted price! I have to say im absolutely delighted with my new look and im looking foward to my next visit and now are all of my friends!! Thanks again!
I normally go to west end salon to have a hair done with Francesco, but this time I went to see new salon that he has opened. My first impression of the new salon was the lovely friendly atmosphere and I really loved exclusive salon service! As it’s a Shoreditch salon I did have concerns about it being too trendy and young but once you enter his salon it seemed so relaxed and calm with smiley staff without any typical Shoreditch chaos. He also offered me a glass of wine which was very nice and of course colour and cut was perfect! I shouldn’t forget to mention about blow-dry, it is just exceptionally great!! Thanks Francesco!!
