amazing food we were well looked after very attentive waitress lovely wine list a little pricey but i suppose i was not in a weatherspoons!!would reccomend the re-firb is fab
I visited Ha Ha! for a leaving party in January 2008 (first time i’d been in ages) and had a bit of a mixed experience. Some people’s meals were better than others, though the good ones were very good. They have a large range of drinks on offer, though some are quite expensive. The waiter was fantastic and came over all the time to check if we had enough drinks or wanted to order anything else. He was really funny and friendly and knew his stuff.
For some reason, though, i always think yuppie bar when i think of Ha Ha! as it’s very popular with the after work crowd.
We had a great laugh at the leaving party until a group of very drunk women came in, sat right behind us and proceeded to shreik at each other so loudly that no one else in that part of the bar could hear themselves or the person they were sat next to! Even after smashing loads of glasses (one of them also fell off her stool and hit the floor with quite a thud) they weren’t told to cool down by the manager and just got more drinks and more drunk! When it gets lound in here, it gets really loud.
If you do pop in, i’d suggest trying the curly fries and the posh fish finger sandwich. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm
This bar/canteen is very popular for people who just want to chill out and have a chat over a few drinks, but most young people can’t afford the sky high price’s in this trendy venue. The music is very ambient and relaxing, perfect to have a chat over. The inside design is modern and cool with funky chair designs made for comfort. I recommend going in the night when the lighting is soft and all the candles are lit or on a warm day so you can sit outside with a cold drink. All the bar staff are really friendly and have the skills to make pretty god damn tasty cocktails. I don’t like the fact that the chill out sofas take up so much room in the venue it is left with little standing area, and as the place gets fuller and fuller as the night goes on people can get pretty nasty when it comes to who gets to sit down, the rule “on your feet lose your seat” seems to be applied on a Saturday night. I have never eaten in the canteen part of Ha Ha’s since the meals are pretty pricey and usually my aim is going in for a quick chill out and a drink. I would say this place is ideal for small Christmas party’s, drinks after work, catch ups and drinks before a night out on the town.
