Although the donuts are like,, over a quid for each they are WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY! Particularly the chocolate covered kreme filled donut!! Mmmmmm! But each donut is fresh and have been cooked to perfection.. Taste FRESH and absolutely DELICIOUS. I cant live without one with a latte each morning. Probably not very healthy but …THEY ARE GOOOOOD!

These donuts are AMAZING! Set in the rather upmarket Oxford Castle, the Krispy Kreme store is quite small, but their donuts are always fresh (though I have never seen the - 'hot donuts now’ light on, even early in the morning). Check the opening times before you go though, as they shut earlier than the other restaraunts in the Castle. If you’re a student, check out studentbeans.com for a voucher giving you a dozen free if you buy a dozen donuts!

I’m certain Krispy Kreme doughnuts are fantastically bad for you, but oh man are they good. They gave us some free samples too, so the rumours are true! For doughnut lovers, just try the simple glazed ring. Sugary, delicious and you’ll definitely be craving more.

The kids love watching the doughnuts being made but then you just HAVE to buy one or three - a guilty treat well worth it….

Mmmm...Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They are truly yummy. I didn't want to like them - they sponsored an event I went to and I took an instant disliking to their retro logo and packaging, their American-ness, their bland appearance. Then I tried one - just one of their glazed ring doughnuts. Then I ate another one. And another. Don't be put off by the boring appearance - they really are delicious, and not as doughy as traditional jam doughnuts, so they appeal to the non-doughnut fanatic as well.

Once you've got past the initial joy of the basic ring, try splashing out on the different flavours. This is really hard to do, because it feels like such a gamble turning down something really tasty, but it's definitely worth it. My favourite is the one with chocolate sprinkles on top and chocolate inside.

Of course, this is probably the worst place to come if you're on a diet, but rest assured you won't get through more than one of the filled beauties a day. It's also not great for your wallet, considering you can get jam doughnuts in some supermarkets for less than 20p, but at around £1.20 for a special doughnut, it's no more than buying a cake in a cafe.

The rumours of complimentary doughnuts are true, although I've not had them from the Oxford branch. I think it depends on the time of year and what you buy, but I'm definitely up for researching it further.

If you're able to forget your health for a few minutes, go and indulge. I promise you won't regret it.

Be sure to check out the notice board near the till, where you can see a copy of a letter written to this shop by then Prime Minister Tony Blair, who tells how he was given a box of doughnuts during his visit to Oxford and enjoyed them on the train ride back to London. There is no indication, however, exactly which variety of doughnut was downed by the man from Downing Street.
This is one place that is hard to resist when walking by. They offer 15 varieties of delicious doughnuts, and a selection of coffees to help wash them down. It's a little bit pricey, considering that you can almost buy a sandwich at the price of one of their doughnuts. Then again, a doughnut is probably just as filling. On a nice day the seating outside offers a Parisian style ambience. You can get various quantities of bulk boxes if you are having a party or fundraiser - or want to sweeten up clients or your bosses. Sometimes they give away complimentary doughnuts. If they don't offer you one, you can always ask.
