NU Restaurant

…back in Berlin and of course I had to go past the ‘NU’ again, I started with a fresh tuna,coated in black pepper, it was mouthwatering just looking at it when it arrived by the friendly staff (most do speak english), the taste,what can I say…you dont get it better in NYC or London, following I had porkbelly,well sounds a bit odd, but having tried the dish in Beijing once, it was delicious and authentic, served on pak choy and a variety of sauces with it…I am not much for sweets but I have to say sweet are your table neighbors generally and you might find yourself chatting away and discovering Berlins Clubnights not on your own…overall one of my top 20 restaurants in European Capitals…

Nu is AMAZING! I'm actually moving to Friedrichshain soon but I will definitely make the journey back to Charlottenburg to eat at Nu. It is incredible! It's a great fusion restaurant and their duck dish is great as well as their appetizer sampler. The atmosphere is also incredible.

This is a cool place, with chunky modern dark wood tables and benches inducing a convivial atmosphere, as one often has to share the larger tables with strangers. The glass walls are illuminated by funky color-changing lights and adds to a slightly surreal ambience, like a fancy place from the film Blade Runner.

The food is generally very tasty, Thai of origin, with a healthy blend of Vietnamese and Singaporean, and you can order small or regular portions. My usual trick is to get a few starters and then order the 1 kilo of fried fresh king prawns, which means that one must always come here with a friend as that’s a lot of prawns!

Service is usually pretty good, unless the place is packed, which is quite often during the weekends, so reservations are definitely recommended.

Overall, it’s a nice place to take friends who want to try an unusual modern Asian bistro, and that’s what I do.
