Au Roi du Café

My girlfriend and me visited Paris last week. We stayed in a Hotel very near to this Cafe. When we passed it the first time, it was full of french people so we decided to go there the next day. It was very great, they serve Entrecote, salads, but there specialties are tartarte of salmon and beef. Soo delicious! So we went some more times! Every meal costs 10€, thats a fair price. Dessert about 5,50, the coco cake is great! Wine from 3 Euro up. Very pleasant staff and nice ambient!

My favourite cafe for hanging out in the untouristy 15e arrondissement. Lovely ageing Belle Epoque windows. Catch the breakfast rush as Paris goes to work. Quality croissants from the designer patisserie across the street. Old-fashioned French bar food - rillettes and toast, steak tartare etc.

A great local venue under new management and recently refurbished. It’s great, friendly, cosy and the atmosphere is semi pub semi bar (with a high table like in a bar, where you can eat on very comfortable stalls). The docor is a mixture between golden and wooden details, the staff are very welcoming (except on Saturday mornings when they haven’t quite woken up yet) and you can eat nice food at great value (a meal + glass of wine is around 15 euros). It’s better to get there early or book in advance.
