7 reviews of Bon Gusto Caffe in English
Had breakfast there a couple of times while visiting London. Great food and price, $6 (4 pounds) for an English Breakfast. Fantastic value.
Great food great chat, great people. What more can I say football is top of the menu -:)
This is one of my “locals” for a quick lunch. A classic local Italian bar, looking pretty much like it would if it was in Italy. Good pannini, mainly toasted, some pasta to take away as well but you have to wait. There is a cafe side and a restaurant side were you can have lunch for less than £15 with a pasta, a drink and a coffee. The deco is not great but it has character. The place is always busy and buzzy. Italian staff mainly so get ready to talk football (perfect if you support Juventus in Italy and Arsenal in the UK). They are always friendly, except when Italy loses against France. I have been going there less for the past couple of years. Maybe because each time I go now they talk about the last World Cup…
**update**
I’m upgrading my review of Bon Gusto to 5 stars. We are always very well looked after here and the homemade salad today was absolutely fantastic.

This place does great sandwiches. Relatively cheap too - about £3 for a panini and a drink. I just polished off a chicken and mozarella panini and i’m still smacking my lips from the taste. The service in here is excellent and always with a smile. Highly recommended.
when I have visited this place it has been for take away only but what a fantastic take away! The paninis are scrumptious and filling while being inexpensive at under a fiver.
If you’re around and fancy a delicious treat that won’t cost a tenner and leave you hungry, grab lunch here!
On a quick lunch break I saw the Illy coffee sign outside Bon Gusto's and decided to splurge on both lunch AND a double latte. But a splurge it was not as the wide variety of sandwiches on offer at this cafe/deli were very affordable in addition to the service being very friendly.
As a coffee addict I was quite pleased with my picker-upper however as a foodie I have to admit the Italian chicken & mozzarella panini was quite greasier than I'd have liked... although I can definitely see the appeal of just such comfort food when recovering from a night of indulgence.
This cafe could serve the worst food in the world and still get five stars from me for one very simple reason.
On the wall they have signed photographs of Henry Winkler and Rutger Hauer! (They have one of Christian Slater as well....but he's not done anything good since Heathers.)
How can you not want to eat in the same cafe as The Fonz and The Hitcher!
Luckily they do great butties too. I was recommended the chicken pesto panini but ended up plumping for the steak and Gorgonzola instead (with caramelised onions). What can I say: I was hungover and saw the word steak on the specials board and my stomach made the decision for me!
Great steak sandwich for a under a fiver (freshly cooked too, none of this 'nuke it in a microwave' rubbish) which really sorted out my fuzzy head.
The other good sign that this is a decent cafe/restaurant (apart from having a signed photo of a member of the Blade Runner cast!) is the sheer amount of Italians in there shooting the breeze and enjoying the grub.
I haven't eaten in the restaurant section, but if it's anything like the takeaway option then it will be great.
Linus According to IMDB it's Rutger...but anyway it's definitely not Ruger! Corrected.
