I totally agree with chaz71 on this review. The food is very dry and its not nice at all. Cheap and tacky.

Not a nice place for some to eat.There is only a small selection of choices to choose from. There's was several dishes there that was very dry. I would have prefer the place to nice and relaxing but it wasn't. Unfortunately I constantly had this Chinese woman shouting really loud in the restaurant. I think she was telling the other waitress what to do but it was just unpleasant. I also made my view on how disgusting it is to leave a young child upstairs on his own, screaming away whilst I think his mother is working away. No child should be left unattended. I was very disturbed to hear the screaming when I went to the toilets upstairs. I think his mother heard me complaining so she ran into the room where he was left but within seconds she was back out and once again the child was left unattended. A very disgraceful restaurant. Social service will be informed.

I've been to the buffet a few times now , my partner lives in Bradford , so I'm not a student & every time we have gone after shopping I've found it nice friendly and the food is nice!! I can not even begin to understand why there's so many complaints its a cheap buffet but with nice well presented quality food very yummy and you eat as much as you like !! 9/10 In my book no complaints at all, where I live there's a Chinese pretty much like bc buffet and the foods dry and not nice at all! So it makes a change to actually sit and have some nice cheap priced food & I've got the honest section of manchesters china town to choose from too and it's not all that !!!

I have never been so offended and insulted until I step into this terrible restaurant. I was in with my family for sunday lunch. Judging from what the reviews have been saying, I guess it was the same chinese woman with glasses who served me and my family. Firstly may I just say, I am a 52 years old man and I have never had someone rudely pointing their finger at me. I tell my grandchildren how important manners are and yet this woman should I dare say points her finger at me and then shaking it in my face when I ask for a bigger table. She went on tutting and sighing when she came back for our drinks. If my wife hadn't stopped me I would have told her exactly where to go and believe me it wouldn't have been nice. The food was average. We just ate up and left as I don't like being stared at. This is a terrible waste of money restaurant. Staff with rude manners. No english background. Definitely will NOT BE GOING BACK AGAIN

No not a baboon it was a goon & when I was in there there was chavs and stuck up people? Like I say it’s cheap and cheerful I don’t think that I’d get a Buffett for £6 no where near as half decent! This is a horrible restaurant. The staff is very rude and this is not just to English customers. We were sat upstairs because we want sit down ala carte. We complaint about the roast duck as it was not roast duck because it was fried. I know the reason it was fried because it was from either yesterday or the day before. I complained to the boss daughter and she gave me a dirty look and said they are all the same. I ask for a Chinese lemon tea but she was too busy and she told me to have cola. I was not happy with the boss daughter (skinny old woman with glass) that my table did not tip her. When we were leaving she shouted out to her staff that we as student are all the same. Complains about everything and never gives tip. Horrible restaurant horrible boss daughter

This restaurant is a joke. Yes the traditional chinese food is ok but so is Great Wall and Blue sky. As a student from China I have been to many many chinese restaurant and tai pai dong. In my culture, time is money and money is time. So when we go into restaurants we are the boss because we pay the money. I was in last wednesday and the place was not busy. We were the second table in and to me that it not busy. So when all three of us asked for a pearl drink, the four-eye woman told us that we had to wait 45 minutes because she was too busy. I said to her that its silly because the other table was a hotpot (self service cooking soup meal) how can she be busy. She didn't like it and told us to drink coke instead. We complained to the other staff and they all said that this glasses woman is the boss and when she says no then it's no. So I think we will go to Great wall next time when food is delivered or served within 20 minutes no matter how busy they are. BC restaurant has alot to learn because compare to all the restaurant in China and HK,,,,, this is a waiting to shut down restaurant especiallly with girls who work there and don't smile and is bad manners

Absolute disgraceful place with staff that doesnt speak English nor do they care. The food is really limited and the starter might as well be pots of veg oil. I'm a mother of two very young kids and what I had experience is just disgusting. My five year old daughter was given half a glass of lager when I asked for lime soda. It was a good job I noticed it straight away. I told the waiteress with the glasses on that i wanted lime and soda not lager. She tutted at me and walked away. I was astounded with her response that I had to take the drink to the bar. The lady behind the bar apologised and said she'll change it straight away for us. Whilst we were eating the same waiteress with the glasses on came over and slammed the drink down on the table and walked off. I was so disgusted with her manners that I complained to her and that I wanted to see the manager. She replied back in broken english that she was the manager and walked off. Nethertheless, we quickly had our food and left. I certainly didn't tip as the food wasn't nice at all and the service was terrible. I only wish I had taken a picture of what was served to my daughter so that I can prosecute them. Never will I be going back again

Won't/never will go back to this restaurant again. This is a very racist restaurant. Unless you're one of their race then they will treat you like rubbish. After reading a glowing report about this place, we decided to go there for our sons birthday. We asked for downstairs but the woman with the glasses just hurried us upstairs. My best friend asked the woman with the glasses if they did anything for birthdays and she replied 'ok'. Then a few Chinese customers came and sat next to us. This woman with the glasses just ignored us for the rest of the night and just focused on the Chinese customers. This got our party very annoyed as its a Chinese buffet where plates are supposed to be collected yet our was piled high. The final straw was when we asked for a cake, again she said 'ok' and nothing happened. As we were getting up. This woman with the glasses blanked us and got a birthday cake for the Chinese customers. My son cried his eyes out. I shall never be going back ever again. Nor will any of my party that was with us that night. A very disgusting racist restaurant.

Fantastic food – Buffet only £7 per head till June 2012. Don’t be put off by the outside, warm welcome from attentive staff. Will recomend and visit again!

I have been in this restaurant serveral times now and I have never been disappointed. Fair enough the buffet table is now massive and looing in from the outside, it does look very run down but the food is out of this world. I have been in when it’s been a quiet night and the food is always fresh. Overall, when it comes to food wise, I have no complaints. However, when it comes to the staff, I’m afraid I have to say I am a bit disappointed. The young gentlemen who works there is always very pleasant. The old woman behing the bar is, well to put it nicely, has constant PMT. The usual girls are always nice enough but tend to look harrassed on weekends. My complaint is one of the woman there (skinny with glasses on) she was extremely rude to me and my family. I don’t know if it’s because she can’t speak english but her mannerism was absolutely terrible. She came over to our table and rather than asking us what we would like to drink. She abruptly said ‘what do you want’ and when we said just one drink and a jug of water. she replied back ‘is that it’? The disgust on her face was terrible. My daughter felt very uncomfortable around her. The constant staring that we got off her was awful. I had to stop my husband from going over to ask her to take her mask off cos halloween was over cos she was making even the sweet desserts turn sour. Apart from the service that we got off this woman, the food is always great.

found the bc after going round and run. was looking forward to it but did not venture inside. the website is really brilliant. thought we were going to a special restaurant. looked through the widow and could not believe it. it had an awful floor awful chairs no tablecloths to hide tatty tables. we came quite a long way because of the elaborate website. not in keeping
with the place itself. there was no where to park near.

I've been here several times now and I have never been disappointed with both service and food wise. We're normally greeted by a lovely lad and the girls are faultless. The food is always very tasty and freshly cooked. However I have to admit that me and a group of 5 was in on Tuesday and non of the group enjoyed both the food or the hospitality. An old man came to the door and rushed us to our seat. It felt like it was a race. We tried to tell him that we would like to drink at the bar first whilst we're waiting for one more person to turn up but by then he was already at the table that he wanted us to be at. To make matter worse, he started talking really loud in his own language to one of the staff whilst standing at our table and it really made us all feel very uncomfortable. He seemed so angry and it got to the point that we weren't sure if he was angry that we were in this restaurant.I'm sorry to say that some of my friends had turned around and said that they won't be coming back again. The food was average standard that night. I think the icing on the cake was the fact that as my table was about to leave. This man started shouting at the staff again and we assumed that he was telling the young girl to clean our table up (but we were still standing there plus there was plenty of other free tables around) The girls seemed really harrassed. I have to say I have been very disappointed with the service that night. To make it worse I had been telling my friends how great this restaurant is. I think it will be a while before I will come back again or maybe I should have picked a day when the young lad that we normally talk to is in and not on his day off.

The Food was fantastic!!
came here for fathers day the staff were friendly and warm, first time and will recommend to firends and work collegues.
Lovely choice and all cooked fresh, they ran out of my favourite dish and with in 5 minutes a member of staff brought it over.
what more can i say fantastic and brill price of £5.00 for sunday lunch, even got a free whiskey for fathers day a nice touch.
would like everyone to go.

Poor food selection, tables too cramped (we went as a party of four and sat at a table more suitable for two.) Queuing for the buffet was extremely cramped and unorganised. Very small selection of food, almost all of which tasted terrible. The staff stare as you pick your food and eat it and made myself and my friends feel extremely uncomfortable. Terrible value for money. Decoration was tacky. Would not go again.

I have been to this Chinese restaurant several times now and I do believe it’s no longer called Kong’s. If I remember correctly it’s now called BC buffet restaurant. The staff there are very friendly. They always make me and my family welcome whenever we go. The evening buffet is £8.50 and £5 for lunch time. Although the price is pricey it is very good for it’s value. I’ve been to alot of Chinese buffets as I love Chinese food and I tend to find that most buffets get very greasy and grizzly. However I have never been disappointed with BC buffet at all. My cousin had her 21st birthday there and there was 62 ppl altogether, and not once could i fault their service or food.

Well if the restaurant employs the staff then yes it will be the restaurants responsibility. The waitress is leaving her two years old child on its own, screaming away whilst the mother is working away downstairs. On the other hand, taking in on what you’ve said, the restaurant employs irresponsible retard Chav to serve customers!!!
