Simply my favourite bar. Through the small black door across the road from High Street Kensington Station is a flight of stairs, leading you to the jewel in West London's crown. The bar is not big or flashy - drinks are nice rather than exceptional and the decor is not, in itself, worthy of such high accolade.
The evening is the time to go, and preferably a Thurs, Fri or Sat (can be a little quiet at other times). You will hear truly tremendous pianists playing your requests, whilst - later on at least - the bar sings along.
The atmosphere is great - do see for yourself!
