Yes, I went to Paris and went to an English pub…I know…But it isn’t that English a pub. It’s a nod to British Colonialism and eccentricity, and it’s great fun with a great atmosphere…

Sir Winston - also known as "The Winston" - is definitely a good choice for drinks with friends in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Either outside (small tables along the street) or inside, this is a great hangout for a Saturday or Sunday that you want to spend with nice decor, lounging on some comfy chairs and zipping some alcohol (or something without a %-sign).

The service is fast and efficient and the central location near the Arc de Triomphe makes it a good starting point for any other activity that you want to do afterwards - dinner, sight seeing, etc.

Most of my french friends know this place and said it's quite an institution...definitely on the posher side of the Parisian clientele but not yet snobby - no need to get out your suit or fancy dress....a nice pair of jeans and a cool jacket on top will do the job.

Decorated inside like a smart old English pub, cigars and whiskey are part and parcel!
but you can also just sip on a cocktail (not insanely expensive) or a glass of wine (good selection)
the waiters are not overly friendly or helpful
on the other hand downstairs it’s more original: small boxes covered with animal skins
clientele in their thirties after work, who haven’t even had the time to take off their ties.
but the pub has a comfortable atmosphere, it’s quiet, not too noisy, cosy and quite tame
It’s not the kind of place that you go to with a group of friends!
