This place is excellent. There is a blond lady who works here who pierced my ear, tongue and nipple and she couldn't have done a better job.

First impressions of this piercing studio are not good. You are guided by a sign up a dingy old dirty looking steep staircase to the front desk. The place looks gloomy with a huge cold metal chair. My first impressions where not very good at this point however i heard so any good things about them that i decided to continue anyway.

The blond lady I mentioned early spoke with a soft voice, asked to see my I.D. and then then gave me information about aftercare and asked me to declare and sign that I was not pregnant, suffering from diabetes, had eaten in the last 2 hours etc. Then she led my upstairs and very calmly explained exactly what she was going to do. The procedure was quick with minimal pain (i had my tongue pierced at another place which was much slower and putting in the jewelery took much longer there that here) She explained what i needed to do next and assure me It was fine. The lady also told me if i was have any query or trouble, to come straight back in and speak to someone.

Another man who also pierced my ear was of a similar friendly nature. They were very welcoming and extremely professional. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you're scared of pain and need that little extra care and reassurance.

Went there about a month and a half ago to get a surface tragus piercing and all in all it was a great experience! All the guys that work there are very friendly and make you feel more at ease and at the same time maintain their professionalism by asking for ID and making sure you know what you're getting into before getting the piercing etc. All the questions I had were answered and my misconceptions were corrected the piercer clearly knew what he was doing... He told me all the do's and don'ts and cleaning instructions which were very specific :) I was offered a check up in about a month's time since my piercing. Recommended :))
Oh and I payed £30 for a vertical tragus/ surface tragus piercing in case anyone's wondering..

Review of Cold Steel from 12 April 2013
I went in to get my tongue pierced after reading the good reviews of Cold Steel. It could not have gone better; the guy behind the counter made sure to check my ID and that I'd eaten in the last four hours, was all around lovely and fitted me in quickly to see Julie. They both clearly knew what they were doing; a quick look at my old rook piercing that rejected within a week and he knew straight away what had gone wrong and how to fix it.
Julie was very careful and the piercing itself hurt less than biting your tongue. They told me to drop in or ring up if I had any questions, and I fully intend to come back if I want anything else done, even if it means travelling from Brighton. Their expertise is worth it.
I would recommend Cold Steel to anyone, as they were far better than any other piercing studio I've ever been to. A few comments seem to have indicated that the guy behind the counter was 'rude' or 'mean.' I can't disagree with that more, he was purely professional and dedicated to doing his job.

Thank you very much for a great experience!

I went in to Cold Steel looking for a cartilage piercing on my ear, the man behind the counter was very informative, but seemed very arrogant. I am of age to have a piercing but didn't bring ID, understandable that he refused to pierce me at this point, there was no problem there, but he was really quite rude about it and made quite a few unnecessary comments. I decided that rather than go back home to bring my ID out, I would go elsewhere as I felt uncomfortable around someone so rude, and would be very reluctant about giving someone with such an attitude my money.

    cold steel, 9 April 2013:

that is totally untrue. you came in asking for a piercing, when we said you needed id, you became defensive about your age, we then offered to book you in later on in the day or on an other and offered you a 10% discount as a gesture of good will.

  • Maddieb123, 9 April 2013:

This is the first I have heard of a 10% discount offer, and to treat a potential customer with such an attitude was (in my opinion) completely out of line. When complimenting you on a great pitch you quite bluntly said “it wasn’t a pitch.” and at no point did I become “defensive about my age” I simply offered what I thought might have been some form of ID, which you then declined quite rudely, patronising and belittling a customer.

  • zmissy26, 17 April 2013:

I completely agree with Maddieb123, the man who I spoke to when I went in was condescending and rude. Which is such a shame because the woman who did my piercing was lovely. This place does not care about how they treat their customers. Customer service is appalling at the front desk. I had my nose pierced here 7 months ago and it still hasn’t healed, it developed what they called a ‘granuloma’ little did they know my partner is a dermatologist, him and his practice partners diagnosed it as a keloid (which is permanent).

If you want to go somewhere where they talk to you like you are an idiot and where they don’t seem to know what advice to give you apart from soaking your piercing in salt soaks twice a day rather than seeking medical attention then please go to Cold Steel.

If you want to go somewhere where they talk to you like a human being and care about your well being AVOID COLD STEEL.

Today I got my Tragus and my 3rd hole on my lobe piered today in my left ear by Julie. The quality of service AND jewellery was amazing which makes the pricing range completely understandable and absolutely a brilliant price for what you are getting.

Pain wasn't anything like what I had expected; I felt a pinch and then pressure and heard a crunch and that was it! I genuinely did not feel the earring being put in!

I felt in complete safe hands as they are not crazy on sticking needles in you, they will turn you away if needed or if you personally aren't ready for the piercing you want. THEY DO NOT USE GUNS, which made me feel completely at peace as guns are not sterile. Julie was amazing she made me feel completely at home which made this process a whole lot easier. They even ask you to come in a few weeks later to check up on your piercing! And all i can say is Thank You and I will be back soon ;)

For those who would like to know; 15 quid per ear on lobe piercings and my tragus was 24 pounds (both with jewellery)

Yazmine :)

I had my nose, left tragus and rook done today (30/03/2013) at Cold Steel and I had THE best experience. Love the place - it's clean, professional and the staff are very friendly, informative and also really fun! I tried this place out after a good long search on google and would totally recommend CS. I asked plenty of questions and got just the right info needed to look after my piercings. They even helped me decide which ones to get/where to get them done as I couldn't decide! :-) I'm definitely going to visit them again, even just to say hi! You're brill guys! ^_^ Holly xo

P.s. don't forget your ID!

I got my nose pierced about 5 or 6 weeks ago while I was visiting London and I'm so so glad I did it in Cold Steel. Of course, when you're a tourist you can't really spend too much time looking for piercing studios so as soon as I saw that CS had good reviews I decided (on a whim, if I have to be honest) to go there. And turns out it was a great decision! The guy that did it (I can't remember his name unfortunately :( ) was really nice and funny! He was great! I definitely recommend the place! Wish I could go back to visit and get my ears pierced :(

Just for the record I'm not one to post reviews often but I was really happy with my piercing experience. I went into cold steel to get my nipple pierced today (21/02/13) This is my first piercing on my body and without a gun so I was really worried about the pain and was literally freaking myself out for no reason. I am guilty of watching one too many youtube clips lol - DONT do it!!
It really isn't painful like people make it out to be, with that said everyone's pain threshold is different but mine was over in a matter of seconds and it was fine.  Julie  - the lady that did my piercing - is lovely and will give you all the relevant info needed. Pricing is good here too, I've seen other studios charging £50+ just for one!!! I really love my piercing!!! I would recommend going on a warm day though, walking to the station in cold weather was the worst part lol. I would 100% without a doubt go back for future piercings. Everyone there is down to earth and from seeing how they deal with other customers they really have your best interest at heart. Thanks Coldsteel :-)

Had a piercing done here about 2 years ago, was really happy with how they went through the procedure with me and gave me all the information etc. The lady who pierced me was super nice and let me take 5-10mins to calm down before she pierced me. I never felt rushed or like a baby because I was quite nervous. I was told to come back in a few months to check up on the piercing to see how it was going. I expeiernced a lot of issues with my piercing 'leaking, pus, quite a bit of blood and LOTS of discomfort' . I went in and the guy with the beard took his time to look at it but basically told me I was overreacting and that the bump on my piercing was a granuloma, he told me to just increase salt soaks which I did. I returned again 3 months later with the 'granuloma' still there and a lot of blood coming out of the piercing. A different guy was there and was very rude to me and dismissed what I was saying. After a year of it still bleeding and leaking (healing period was meant to be 6-9months) I went to my dermatologist who told me the granuloma was actually a keloid (they don't go away).

All in all my actual piercing experience was great the lady was lovely

BUT

Both guys who work there are very unsympathetic and make you feel like an idiot for being concerned about your body. The only reason my rating is so high is for the lady. If it was down to the two guys it would be a 1.

I had a similar experience with the man there, he was very belittling and made me feel very uncomfortable and stupid. I haven’t met the lady, which is unfortunate because she sounds lovely from all these reviews. But I completely agree with you on the attitude front!

Review of Cold Steel from 4 February 2013
We are from Manchester and whilst down in London for a Theatre visit on Feb 2nd 2013 we decided to search google for a reputable Piercing studio anywhere in London.  Luckilly for us, we were directed to this site (www.qype.co.uk) to read previous reviews.  We found that this particular place had great reviews so we decided to take a punt.  It is important to know that we REALLY NEEDED a top piercer because the piercing we were having was quite personal (Both of my Wifes N*pples).  So, before I go on... we did find the opening time of 11am very strange. WTF?  Anyway, we rang Cold Steel at 11am on the Saturday morning and they told us that the Wife must go and Eat something (Blood Sugar Levels) and return at 12:15pm.  This we did.  On return at 12:15pm we were greeted by the bearded Guy who gave us a price of £30 for each piercing.  However, he virtually told us he wasn't prepared to do both Breasts in one day because of the possible discomfort that my wife could suffer.  He explained the procedure to us for about 5 - 10 minutes.  He wasn't just after our money and you could see that he was uneasy in doing both piercing in the same day.  We took his excellent advice and decided to go for just one Breast.  He then introduced us to the female piercer who was fantastic too.  I could go and on about this place but the rest of the reviews have done it for me.  These guys are clearly very professional and genuinely care about their customers.  The fact that he turned down the chance to double his money (2 x £30) speaks volumes for this outfit.  It is not an understatement to say that when the time comes to have the second piercing done or indeed any further piercing or Tattoo work we will have no problems paying the extra money to Travel from Manchester to London to visit this shop.  Well done Cold Steel!
Ps... One thing to note... If you've never visited Camden before please keep half a day spare for your visit to Cold Steel because you will LOVE the surrounding shops, Markets, Bazaars etc.  I've been to London over 100 times but have never been to such a great place as Camden.  You'll see for yourself.

The people at Cold Steel are super professional, and quite happy to turn you away rather than stick needles in you to anything less than their complete professional satisfaction. (eg. girl walks in while I was waiting, discusses getting another ear piercing, piercer says "to be honest, you're clearly not looking after that one, I'd be very uncomfortable with giving you another one")

One piercer did my right nipple two weeks ago, and I went back today for the left one. Both times I've been very happy with service, hygiene, professionalism, and the place in general. They're also very keen that people go back a month after a piercing for a check up (or in my case "come back in a month and just flash us") to make sure that all's well and you're still happy.

Please oh please steer clear of the common scary looking places in Camden and go to Cold Steel for your piercings!

I have had my belly button, tongue and nose pierced at cold steel and they are literally the best piercers in London, i've been to many other piercers and had problems with the piercings but i have never had a problem at cold steel. I've recommended it to countless friends and they all had amazing piercings with no problems, my aunts flew from Canada to get pierced here- seriously they are the best! Plus Coz and Julie are serious babes.. just go to cold steel.

After a poor experience years ago, I was ultra cautious about choosing where to go this time round. I chose Cold Steel after reading all the great reviews. I spoke to Julie on the phone, popped in and 20 mins later I was all done. I'm a big baby, but Julie was a very calming influence and it hardly hurt at all. She made sure I was OK afterwards (I had been totally over reacting and threatening to pass out) and gave me lots of tips for aftercare. I'll definitely go back for my next one.

I went to Cold Steel to pierce my helix (upper ear) after reading lots of good reviews online. My experience was great, very professional and friendly staff who were willing to explain all about the process and cleaning. The piercing room was clean and professional like a clinic, very private too. My piercer Coz was experienced and knew what he was doing. The whole thing was very efficient and painless. They offer good follow up checks too.I would definitely recommend them.

Just got my (apparently not so big) nipple done. Was scared shitless. It all went really smoothly, didn't hurt half as much as I thought it would (not gonna lie, slightly burning now, but I've taken the advice, I'm on the whiskey :) ).

Thanks so much for being so cool about it, it looks hot ;)
