Traditional french cuisine with a modern twist.. Glamourously located in Sloane Square. Le Cercle Lounge serves unique and tempting cocktails in a relaxed setting.

Beautiful, understated and due to the almost invisible entrance, feels like a well kept secret.
The dishes are rich and beautifully presented, everything you wish for it a french restaurant.
They have a some set menus that offer great value for money, otherwise its easy to overspend...
Good place to take someone you want to impress or for a special occasion.

Great little place tucked in a corner of Sloaneville. I really recommend this place to take your other half for a special evening.

The degustation menu with the sommelier's choice was very well put together and is a perfect fit if you are feeling particularly indecisive Each plate looked fantastic and each surprised my tastebuds. The portions are just the right size thus avoiding the classic stuffed effect that can grind you down just before dessert arrives. Finally the wine choices were superb and unusual.

Rather like being on holiday. Small plates of well executed food served by friendly and reasonably efficient staff and a decent wine list.

Each dish seems to have its own shape of crockery, which may annoy some.

I have been 4-5 times and plan to go back evenry 3-4 months.

Review of Le Cercle from 25 January 2009

The space is intimate yet glamorous - there’s a definite “see-and-be-seen” vibe with elevated booths surrounding a square of mid-century modern wooden table and chairs. Lots of floaty white drapes and beautiful lighting - bright yet subtle - complete the scene.

As Lesley and I are in the middle of a credit-crunched January, we opted for the set menu: quite a brief choice (four courses for £19.50, three choices for each course) but still difficult to choose - everything on it sounded tempting. The waiters are great - service was first class; slightly formal but friendly, gracious and even witty.

The food is a revelation. Without a doubt this meal was one of the very best I have ever eaten. Food-wise I’m biased towards Italian or Asian; Le Cercle reawakened me to the French tradition. Every course was fantastic; but the highlights for me were the sashimi-like salmon strips on mushrooms doused with a ginger foam; and the intensely flavoursome choucroute with a delicious selection of porky bits. Tarte Tatin with cinnamon ice-cream to finish was sublime.

The extras do add up quickly and in the end amounted to more than half the bill; however I as I write this I am wondering when I can go again!

I went to Le Cercle for celebration with a group of friends. It turned out to be one of the most amazing restaurant! You first enter an entrance, more like a residential entrance; then down a flight of stair into the basement with a double height space. Along the stair, there is a very pretty little room for some drinks before the meal.
Food was great… more like 'tapas’ style french cruisine so each of us ordered about 4 courses to fill us up. We walked around the restaurant between courses… into the seating area next to the bar which provided a cosy corner for some heart to heart chat with friends… the entire ambience was amazing…
The bill came up to about 60 per person with drinks… not the most expensive place to be… but not the cheapest either… However, it was money well spent!
