3 reviews of The Round Church in English
This is an amazing church that looks beautiful both inside and out. Worth a visit not only for the beautiful architecture, but the displays of the history of Christianity. Superb.
I was once told that round churchs were built so that the devil can’t hide in the corners. I have no idea if this is true, but there is a very simple beauty about both this principle, and the building itself.
The chapel is cosy and appealing to visitors and well informed staff are always on hand. It also offers a brief snapshot of Cambridge through the ages in a series of display boards.
It is a popular concert venue

This is a distinctive, beautiful church, originally built in the twelfth century, and a wonderfully atmospheric location for the concerts that are frequently held here. It's well worth popping in to look at the interesting architecture, wall displays and video that is played for visitors. It's also the home of the Brass Rubbing Centre, and you can also leave from here for tours of Cambridge (which are not free, although entry to the church itself is).
