Up The Creek

I love Up The Creek, you're probably always gonna have a great night out even if the comedy doesn't always hit your funny bone.

The booze is quite cheap and the bar staff are friendly and attentive.

I absolutely adore the Thai menu offered upstairs, its nothing fancy, its greasy but hits the spot. Cheap too.

The disco is always a laugh (which is after the the comedy on a weekend. Definitely give it a shot once, hopefully you wont be disappointed!

Up The Creek is a great comedy venue in Greenwich, many big name stand up comedians have performed here.

I’ve also been part of the audience here when the BBC were recording a comedy radio show.

It’s a little bit worn looking on the inside, but I guess this all adds to the character of the place. Bar prices are average for somewhere like this and often you’ll have to wait a bit to get served. You can eat here too as they have a limited Thai menu which is fairly cheap.

When they comedy is over on a Friday or Saturday night, they’ll put on a disco which is included in the admission price, so it really is somewhere you can spend the whole evening if you want to!

I went to Up The Creek to see Ed Byrne in a fairly intimate performance in what is a fairly medium-sized comedy club. It's a nice space, lots of seats facing a small stage and a bar in a room next door. It's decorated nicely and the setup for the stage was quite strange but interesting (an old tv, a lamp stand, a small table etc). The house band played jazz in between acts which was more pleasant than silence and the comedians were good quality. Although I've only been once, from the lineup I saw they seem to book good comedians quite regularly and so is somewhere I'll definitely be going to again in the future.
