Review of Radisson SAS Hotel from 12 January 2012

This is now called the Radisossn Blu Manchester Airport following the rebranding of Radisson SAS hotels to Radisson Blu hotels by Rezidor but this is the same property.

We stayed in on the very first night of our honeymoon in September 2010 as we had an early flight the next day.

The hotel is a 4 star property and it genuinley feels like a 4 star property with an impressive reception and lobby area; the hotel is built around the airports Sky link as is ideally located between all 3 terminals and is very convenient for the train station.

The check-in process was effiicient and friendly and we were upgraded to a Business Class room on the top floor which had fantastic views of the aircraft at the stands yet no noise at all.

The bed was slightly quirky in that it was faced diagonally so you could see the view form the windows which was cool.

As with other Radisson Blu Business Class rooms there are robes and slippers and a Nespresso coffee maker.

The rooms are quite large and have air conditioing and the higher floor rooms have great views particularly if you get onne looking out to the aircrfaft taxi ways.

The bathroom was large, stocked with gooq quality toilteries and a good shower.

There is a reasonable TV and all the other usual 4 star in room facilities such as a mini bar.

We actually dined at the Heald Green Beefeater which is 3 mins on the train from the station; we usually dine here when staying at the airport as it is so much better value than the hotel restaurants and offers excellent quality steaks. As we were staying at the Radisson it’a ll under cover to get on to the train and only a 2 min walk to get to The Beefeater from there. I can really recommend this option is you are staying at the airport and want somewhere good to eat in the evening.

We ordered some ice to go with some Champagne and this was delivered very quickly br room service.

We chose not to take the complimentary Business Class breakfast but this is usually ideal if you have time-we chose to eat breakfast at the airport once we had time to wake up as it was an early 05:30 start!

Overall this is the best airport hotel and while not cheap at £100 room only but it is very convenient and a great start to any holiday!

On first impressions this hotel looks good but you soon realise the grandure faded long ago, rooms are ok but lack the frills of modern hotels( contempory styling and bad tvs) the service in the bar was great but the brasserie , well??? It was so over priced with wine at £30 per bottle and a burger at £15

If you need an airport near Manchester Airport this wins in the convenience stake as it's at the airport between terminals one and two.

Even though is just beyond the runway the airport is pretty quite at night.

Rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

Breakfast was expensive but well cooked.

the radisson hotel is a four star hotel and its it really delivers the four star servis that you expect when you book in .firstly the hotel is very conveniently connected to all the three terminals of the manchester airport by a walk way so you can just walk out and go to your terminal to check in how good is that .also the staff is very friedly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable there is a nice gym and swimming pool and also a sauna for that relaxing experience after a long plane journey and its free for the resident . the food in the resaturant is wee bit expensive but i think its worth the price ,overall this hotel is highly recommended

This has been one of the best hotels I have stayed at because of its luxurious space and facilities it has to offer. I had a fabulous meal on the top of the tower which can be hired out privately. It features a long table with large candles at each corner of the room and polite and friendly waiters who serve a three main course meal. The planes departing and landing can be seen from the full length windows that occupy the room which add to the classy effect of the atmosphere. The rooms are occupied directly next to both terminals which are ideal for people who are travelling at funny times of the morning.

There is no better way to get you in the holiday mood than a stay at this hotel. The Radisson SAS offers direct access to the airport under an elevated, undercover walkway. Ask for a room on one of the top floors and you are likely to get a fantastic view of the runaway. The rooms are very modern with huge windows and are decorated in the style of different countries. The hotel is very comfortable and has the added bonus of an indoor swimming pool. Like most airport hotels the Radisson SAS can provide both long and short stay car parking. The only disappointment I found with this hotel is the choice of dining. There is a very expensive A La Carte restaurant called The Phileas Fogg which looks lovely. However, if you don’t want to spend all your holiday money before you’ve left England then your only other choice for food is the Runaway Brasserie which is a glaringly bright restaurant with a hectic atmosphere feel and little choice of food. This aside the Radisson SAS is still a great place to spend a night before jetting of on holiday.
