I am a total Power Plate addict. I'm amazed by how quickly I've seen results. After five sessions, I could see nice defined abs. Now, I've always had fairly decent abs, but never the vaguely sculpted ones that you see on truly toned bodies, but, after several sessions, I swear I could see the beginning of those dream lines.
No, I won't show them off to you even if you ask nicely.
Other than the results, Good Vibes is a nice, friendly and professional studio. The trainers make sure you're going at the level that's right for you, even if there's more than one person in the class. The receptionist - Rachel - is very nice and friendly and always has a smile on her face. Also, there's always a nice pot of hot mint tea that I take full advantage of whenever I go to a session.
Good Vibes also offers advanced classes such as Powerplining (combining Power Plate and trampolining), Speed Power Plate and PowerBox (combining Power Plate and boxing, my personal favourite).
I’m a powerplate addict. It actually works and only takes 25 minutes and that includes a leg massage by the machine at the end which is great.
I am a typical pear shape - complete with chunky thighs - so I was really surprised after only about 8 sessions that my legs looked longer and more toned than I ever remember and my stomach was much flatter. During the sessions themselves holding some of the poses can be a bit challenging but as it’s only for 1 minute you can generally power through.
The studio is colourful and all the teachers teach slighly differently so it doesn’t get repetitive.
Two warnings though. For the first few times you might not feel it that much at the time but the next day will probably hurt (walking down stairs went ow for a few days for me)and don’t make the mistake I did once and go with a hangover. After a night of tequila funnily enough being vibrated is not the best feeling in the world…
I’m not kidding when I say that after half an hour on this lovely wobbly plate thing, my legs and body felt more toned than they had in ages - the kind of feeling you get after 5 times down the gym and you know you’re on to a good thing. The difference being that I had hardly done anything, I’d done a few squats on a plate! It’s really incredible and such a cool idea, that you can just pop down here for half an hour in your lunch time or after work and get fit without really needing to do too much! Love the whole vibe of 'good vibes’ - such a nice place and they have studios across London. The bikini bootcamp course is such a good idea, great for anyone wanting to banish celluite the easy way and get those pins out on holiday! The ski fit course is perfect for getting ready to tackle the slopes if you’ve not been keeping fit all year. It’s basically a cheats way to getting in shape and how brilliant is that! Great way to keep fit alongside other exercise (or just on its own if you’re really lazy). Best to book so not to be disappointed.
Power-Plates high-speed vibration training means that you can work out your whole body in speedy 25 minute classes and then… get on with your day.
Good Vibes are an independent group of dedicated Power-Plates studios in fabulous central London locations. We have brilliant trainers, happy staff, eclectic music and mint tea on tap. The spaces are light and bright with a few eccentric touches and as far removed from the corporate gym experience as is possible.
The classes are held in a room of up to five people. Classes start every half an hour throughout the day.
Claudia Schiffer swears by this and Madonna is said to won one and swears that it is wonderful.PowerPlate is a vibrating exercise platform that promises fast track firming in half the time that is spent at the gym class. At Good Vibes exercising is easy as the classes are small-only 5 in class and they are all run by experienced trainers. The half hour session costs 20.00 includes warm up,stretches and limbering up.The machine is very good to workout on as the continual vibration of the machine (about 30-40 times a second ) causes the muscles to contract at the same speed and there fore makes them work harder.
