We love this restaurant and prefer the posher side but it's nice to have a choice. Ciro, the host, makes everyone feel very welcome. The service is great (the same loyal staff have stayed with him for years) and the quality is consistently good. He even cooks some dishes at the table (eg Steak Diane and zabaglione) which is fun. We try to go as often as we can before he retires. It's usually full, even on a Monday evening.

There are two Italian restaurant options in Brentford with La Rosetta being the more established option - the other being in the new development about 100 yards away near Brentford lock.
La Rosetta is in fact two restaurants next to each other, run by the same family. There is a “posh” i.e. expensive option and a cheaper one. I’ve only eaten at the cheaper one, which was authentic Italian and perfectly acceptable. I know of people who eat there regularly, so would recommend it as a fine option if you are looking for an Italian in Brentford.
There is outside seating which is towards the corner of a rather unappealing square.

I like eating in both the cheaper cafe type section and the full A la Carte section. I have never had a bad meal in either and it was the venue of choice on my birthday for about 10 years.
The staff are always pleasant and helpfull and I would recommend La Rosetta to anyone looking for good authentic Italian food.

La Rosetta is an Italian restaurant located in the small group of shops next to Brentford County Court. It is divided into two adjacent but completely different restaurants - one is a casual pizza-pasta brasserie with cheerful decor and a limited (and cheaper) menu. The place next door is 'posh' Italian (or what passes for it in Brentford) with a wider menu, more elegant decor and higher prices. The good part is that if the brasserie side is full (as it frequently is), they let you sit in the restaurant side and order from the brasserie menu. The brasserie menu is fairly basic but has some good items. The pasta with sausages and peas (it has a fancy Italian name on the menu but it also has English descriptions for Philistines like me!) is really flavourful and the spaghetti vongole is pretty good too. They have a large dessert menu and I've enjoyed everything I've eaten from there, especially the crepes suzette, which the owner makes in front of you with suitably satisfying flames. I've never ordered from the restaurant menu so I only have a vague impression of the prices being high-ish. The brasserie menu though is fairly reasonable, with most mains £10 or less. A friend and I ate there with drinks, desserts, a main course each and sharing a starter and it cost about £40. Oh and the portion sizes are enormous - you have been warned!
