Hammersmith Bridge

Beind a resident of Hammersmith, the Hammersmith bridge is indeed on of the most unique bridges in London. Although it may not offer the best views, the structural design of the bridge intrigues me every time i pass it. Next to the rivers banks there are plenty of pubs and small green areas for you to relax.

Not really worth heading to Hammersmith for but if your passing worth a look. Good place to head to if you want to watch the boat race. So many pubs on the river bank nearby you could make a day of it.

The bridges over the Thames have long been underappreciated, in my simple opinion. They do not have the intricacies and extravagance of the bridges of Paris, or all the history of the bridges of Berlin, but they are an integral part of this great city.

Hammersmith Bridge can be traversed on wheels or feet, which makes it perfect for a stroll from one side of the Thames to the other.

It was the Thames’ very first suspension bridge and boasts its own political history as it was bombed twice by the IRA (in 1939 and then in 2000).

It’s a very popular location for boat race spectators, I once went down to cheer on the light blues and it was jam bloody packed. I’m sure today will be no different.
