I loved it! The best socca in Nice, quite different from the others: crispy and thin. Very savoury! Served hot, out of the oven. One double portion is enough for two persons (about 8 pieces). Usually goes with a “mesclun” salad (mixed salad).
The best place in the world (nothing less!) for the Socca. The Socca (for those who don’t come from Nice) is a speciality here : a pancake made of chickpeas flour, fried in a traditional oven with olive oil and flavoured with pepper. At Pipo’s you eat without any fuss : you double-park your car, queue on the pathway, don’t choose what you’re gonna eat since they only serve socca (with a Pissaladière starter or some Tapenade) and you eat sitting on a bench. At the end you feel like you’re in Spain in a Tapas bar!! The Socca is wonderful and too oily and cheap.

This is the best socca of Nice! the socca is a typical local dish made of cheek peas and olive oil. It has to be thin and crispy yet never dry. You have to add a lot of pepper and use your fingers to eat it.
At pipo, you’ll always have to queue to get your portion, but this is really worth it. I recommend a little glass of Rosé wine!
