The Best bar in Ealing by a “country mile”. If you want to avoid the hoards of drunken yoofs who frequent Ealing Broadway at the weekend, then walk 300yds down the Uxbridge Rd and visit the Castlebar. Yes, it isn’t cheap but who cares when the service is this good. Walk into the covered terraced area and your are served at your table. The menu, whilst limited, always includes interesting choices and the background music is…well….in the background, so there’s no need to shout to be heard.
Lastly, I only pop in a few times a year, but when I do they no me, treat me like an old friend and know exactly what my normal tipple is…..and that my friends is a dying art that isn#t seen anymore in Londons “prefabricated” pub chains.

Great venue with really friendly and helpful staff and table service too! Fantastic cocktails albeit a little pricey. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Castlebar is a little pricey, but then it is the second place in Ealing you can drink at not be bothered by young drinkers out on the lash! They have a great selection of cocktails and a very good choice in wines. The food is good too. The indoor area is small, but the outdoor area, adapted for smokers, is quite big with heaters. It's not as warm as I would personally like, but it's great to come and unwind with friends. Infact, it's great on the weekend, but never gets too busy that you have to stand around all night!
