not a bad place for a Pizza and drink – haven’t tried the other dishes on offer but they sound great. I think that Franco Manca have got to have taken the prize for Pizza in London but this place is very close to their quality though not quite as good – sorry Pappagone fans!
It tends to be busy most nights – but its got a real nice buzz and the food is tasty…..so give it a whirl you won’t be disappointed…

This place serves the best pizza outside of Italy, I have been here on numerous occasions over the last 2 years and have never been disappointed. In spite of some poor reviews on service I have never experienced that and have been impressed at every visit. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, make sure you book cos it’s busy every night of the week, what better indication of quality can you get?

Pizzeria Pappagone is where you go when you have missed your Italian friend’s home cooking. It is clean, the staff are extremely friendly at the ambiance is electric. Above all, the prices are very reasonable! You have not tasted Italian food if you have not tried Pizeria Pappagone!

A very famous pizzeria in the Finsbury Park area, always very busy, with an incredibly noisy and warm staff. They have a very wide bar floor, where you can watch football on the big screen, choose between a selection of cocktails, and also order and eat your pizza.
Pizza is the reason to go there, but especially if you have something to celebrate, like a birthday, tell to a member of staff, and they will bring you a surprise-pudding...
It lost its flair during the years, now the place has become a busy money-machine, but it's still worth a go for a night in good company.

After moving to the finsbury park area recently I was really looking forward to eating at pappagone tonight. Unfortunately I have just returned to my flat feeling sick and sorry... As a vegetarian I expect that when I order a pizza vegeteriana I get a pizza devoid of any meat toppings. As I was tucking into my pizza vegetariana tonight I noticed a big pink topping (half eaten) on my slice. I turn, shocked, to my carnivourous other half and ask him what he thinks that suspicious pink topping is. He wrenches it off my slice and tells me in no uncertain way that it is the same ham featured on his pizza capriciosa! At this point I start feeling very unwell and manage to dig around in my, to my eyes, now inedible pizza to uncover some more meaty looking scraps! Oh joy. I havent had to accidently consume meat since various cultural and linguistical misunderstandings led me to eat a meat pastry in northern Brazil 2 years ago. After rejecting an offer of a different dish we didnt have to pay for our meal at all but I really wanted to love this place - being just around the corrner from my new pad but, alas, I am now sitting at home, awaiting a shop-bought pizza from my oven, swishing the physical and physcological taste of meat out of my mouth with copious amounts of cheap red wine!

Have you been in the area, or do you live there and haven't yet gone to Pappagone? Well, check your pulse because you may actually be dead.
It's an awesome place, full of great Italian vibe and the food is fantastico!
I have taken a few of my Italian friends there and they were rally impressed so that's telling. The waiters and chefs are all Italian and super friendly. The pizzas are yummy and not too expensive at all. Even though it's a pizzeria, you can find bigger selection of Italian cousine there.
The place can get pretty crowded on the weekends but definitely worth a visit. There is a little bar there too and you can watch footie on the screen too while enjoying the sound of vuvuzelas.

Absolutely love this place.
Firstly, it’s the atmosphere of the place, as mentioned elsewhere there is always a birthday or other celebration going on here, and the staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful.
They have a lovely range of pasta & pizza dishes, and the prices are excellent value. I take my daughter here at least once a week, and she loves the Carbonara and the pizza garlic bread.
You do get very large portions, so if you’re going for a lunchtime, it’s worth asking for a smaller portion, otherwise afternoon work tends to be a little less productive!
If I there is one thing I’d like them to improve, it’s the wine list. It’s pretty non-existent, and could do with a little more work, but everything else is grand
