Annette Collen of Norton Peskett Solcitors represented my business, P & S Personnel Services Limited, when we leased space
at the Eurocentre in Great Yarmouth. She failed to safeguard our interests, and indeed we eventually had to hire another
law firm to undo the damage that she had done. We later discovered that she had also been paid by Carina Clarke of Mills &
Reeve, who represented Aquanos, the other party (landlord). This was clearly a conflict of interest. Norton Peskett clearly
helped their other client at our expense, while concealing the fact that they worked for both sides in this matter.

Norton Peskett failed to handle a simple divorce, and gave privileged information to my ex.
Lisa Simonsen of Norton Peskett Solicitors was handling my divorce. At our initial
meeting she told me it was a simple matter. Since there were no children and my ex agreed to a
divorce. She was very confident that it would only take two months. But it dragged out. She kept stalling,
just delaying tactics. I left numerous messages requesting information, but she never returned my calls.
When I reached her secretary I was always told some excuse, like "not in the office" or
"It will take two weeks from now, just be patient". Then they told me that she was on
holiday for three weeks. When she returned she was again always too busy to take my
calls, always with a client. I asked for a convenient time to call her, or even an
appointment to come into the office. But always she was just too busy.
I was told that Leanne Griffen had made a mess of the documents that were filed with
the court, and that Leanne was going to be fired. But I was the only one who actually
suffered any consequences of Leanne's incompetence. My divorce is still not complete,
and so I have had to postpone my re-marriage. Lisa Simonsen told my ex-husband that I was planning
a wedding, and so he applied pressure on me to give him more concessions on account of he knew
that I was under time pressure. Lisa Simonsen and Leanne Griffen clearly violated
the client solicitor privilege when they gave my ex that information.
During this time the money that I was due to receive has decreased several times.
It was originally stated that I would receive 25,000 pounds. Later I was told, that I will only receive 2,000 pounds.
When I made an official written complaint Lisa told me that she could no longer handle
my divorce because I had complained. Now, whenever I call, her secretary tells me that
she can not allow me to talk to Lisa because she is no longer handling my case. I have
had to hire another firm of solicitors, and start over from scratch. I have had to pay
fees to this new firm to repeat the work that Norton Peskett claimed they had already done.
Although, in fairness, my new solicitors did agree to only bill me their minimum rate even
though a partner is now handling the matter. They did this for me out of pity when they
heard about my terrible experience at the hands of Norton Peskett. It is reassuring to know
that there are at least some decent people left in this profession.
