Charing Cross Road is a haven for booklovers!! You have a whole street of second-hand bookshops, with several specialising in the arts, but most are general. You can honestly spend hours just flicking through hundreds of thousands of old hardbacks, paperbacks, cookbooks, travel guidebooks, history books… Most of them have various first editions, and out the front of each shop are heaps of sale books as well - great for a bargain. If you've not had a look around Charing Cross Road yet, I suggest you do; I’ve spent many a rainy afternoon there, and it’s a great place to kill time if you’re waiting to meet someone.

Charing Cross Road has to be one of my favourite places - it is a reader's book heaven. Oh, yes, you can find the major booksellers on this street and not far away - Borders, Foyles, Waterstones, WHSmith.

But Charing Cross (and some of the streets off of Charing Cross) is home to many second-hand bookstores and antique bookstores, where you can buy special sets of classic novels, and first editions. It's a place for a real book enthusiast to explore and enjoy.

Whatever you're looking for is bound to be hidden in one of these places, and the booksellers are always happy to have a chat and help you out.
