The heart and soul of this formerly wonderful bar has been well and truly ripped out! No atmosphere, cold clinical appearance, how this was discribed as cosy beats the life out of me!!!

This is a hidden gem a 5 minute walk from the centre of Epsom. Wonderfully decorated, cosy and warm, the resturant is so nice, you want to be in there all night. I love the place mats, made of stone! Check out the fire as well!
The food is great, with an extensive menu with add on specials all the time. All the food and ingredients are made in the kitchen by some dedicated chefs, even the chips are cut in the kitchen, I am told the only thing they don't make back there is the mayonnaise because of some food safety law!
Serving real ale and european beer on draught such as Erdinger and staropramen, it makes for a good place to drink too, especially in the very large beer garden out the back. There is a functions room upstairs which is great for watching sport.
They also have a poka night which is popular with the locals.

Just off the beaten track, the Rising Sun truely is a hidden gem. Reccomended to me by 3 people who live local until I made it down there, met a lovely girl in the beer garden who studies at the nearby fashion college and became friends and the Rising Sun became a distant but much loved venue to visit.

Fantastic garden, brilliant beer range, gorgeous clientel and amazing food if I lived closer I would visit at least once a week. May I suggest if you have to meet someone in Epsom that you take them to this place? You will both be impressed!

The "Rising Sun" at Epsom has been refurbished during the summer 2006. The new pub layout is clean and modern while at the same time retaining the traditional cosy quality . Now boast an open fire in the dining room, it feels really welcoming and creates a relaxing atmosphere.

Part of the renovation was a newly build state of the art kitchen. The Chefs have working in some of England`s best hotels and restaurants. They prepare a varied modern style of cooking with influences from France and Italy while retaining the traditional classics the Brits love.
The menu offered, is entirely homemade, something you sadly don`t see so often in pubs anymore.

There is a neadly landscaped garden which will prove to be very popular during the warmer month. Whether it`s for family lunches, afresco dining or just relaxing with the beer after work.

On offer is a large selction of bottled lagers from around the world.
"Modelo" from Mexico, "Kirin" from Japan, or "Erdinger" from Germany.

The "Rising Sun" is located in a residential road just short walk from the centre of Epsom, close to the University and Art`s College.
