I am so angry because I am I student and I don't know how I am expected to fork out such large amount, when I don't even work and have no financial support.

Hello, What information is misleading? Our website says everything in detail and you have been given all the information before the photo shoot in writing and over the phone. UK Models site clearly says its NOT an agency and CAN’T find you work. You have been told of the prices of the photos and what to expect on the day. Photos cost £50 each and to have a portfolio you need minimum of 10 photos with different looks. How hard is this to understand? We never ever force anyone to buy anything. (It’s illegal) So your argument of being forced is a lie. We make it very clear that you HAVE to pay for a portfolio from start. If you were expecting freebies because you are a student sorry about that. Next time make sure you read everything clearly before you venture into something.
I was very excited to go to The Blue Rooms after their phone call, but due to some reviews I read here I almost cancelled my appointment.
Luckily I didn't and am more than happy. It couldn't have gone any better.
I went to The Blue Rooms yesterday and felt very welcomed.
The staff was very friendly and professional. They gave me very useful and valuable advice.
The pictures looked fabulous and I fell in love with them.
They helped me to build up my portfolio.I really enjoyed myself.
This opportunity was worth every penny.
A Big thanks to The Blue Rooms for the wonderful experience.
I would definitely recommend The Blue Rooms photographic studio, do not miss out your opportunity!

We are glad you had a great time. Good luck with job hunting :) Thanks for helping clear up negative rubbish written by our competitors. Qype doesn’t filter reviews this means anyone can post anything.
I was very nervous when I first arrived and was kept waiting a while. The studio was really busy and there were lots of busy people around.
The photographer was very helpful and eased my nerves. As this was the first time I was doing something like this he showed me how to pose...I really enjoyed the outdoor shoot as well.
I would really like to thank the Bluerooms. Thanks

We are glad you had a good time. Thanks for your review.
The pictures though were worth every penny. On the day I had two hair changes and a lot of different looks and the photographer really help me pose as I was quite nervous. Was really happy with the end results and even though the price was quite expensive it was worth every penny as got over 90 images and a website!!

Hello Vicky, Clearly you have been mislead by negative reviews written by our competitors to tarnish our company name and brand. If you feel uneasy about your purchase call us anytime on 02073234466 and speak to our customer services. We take our customer complaints very seriously and will do anything to keep you happy.
We were invited down, took 6 changes of clothes including shoes, we were advised of a make over for hair and face, what he got was laughable and in no way represented a makeover.
When my son was called for his 'session' I was advised I could leave, or actually told to go and enjoy the sun as my son would be hours, this confirming that they did not need me there for any other reason than to pay, less than 1 hour later he was finished, only 3 changes of clothes and less than 100 pictures to choose from.
We were then left in a rather unappealing basement for over half an hour and when I went looking for someone, anyone, the person who should have been showing us our pictures was texting on her mobile. 10 minutes later we were shown into a very small room to look very quickly at the pictures taken, at this point they put some music on, I would like to say background music but it was heavy beat music and full blast, this I feel was to distract us from the poor quality of the images. Fortunately my son has the same computer so muted it, this gave us chance to study the pictures. Over half were either over or under exposed, out of focus or too far away to be used and mostly the rest were less than average, you cold probably take better yourself.
The 'hard sell' lady returned and started to tell me what I needed, actually what I needed was just the price which she was rather reluctant to give me, another 5 minutes of hard sell and again I asked the price! Eventually I was told that I needed to pick 10 pictures for burning on to a CD to take home, 5 Pictures for a digital email and another 10 pictures for a portfolio and they were £50 each, that's a staggering £1250.00. When I advised there were not 10 pictures I was prepared to pay £50 each for the 'hard sell' lady got her boss. The 'boss' did ask me what I thought was wrong with them, 'she's asking me? I said I felt they were over exposed 'boss' told me she had set up the camera for the photographer (really is he not a real photographer, can he not set up his own equipment)? and it was a bit difficult for him as he was working with the sun! Really? Most of the pictures were taken inside. Who is stupid here? hopefully she didn't think me?
When again I advised there were not 10 good shots 'hard sell' and her boss left the room with the images and the very loud music playing on the computer. I think most people just give in as they don't know how to say NO! But I was not prepared to buy something this expensive unless I was 100% happy.
'Hard sell' returned to the room and again asked me which 10 pictures to start with I would like, we did look carefully and found some better than your 'at home snaps' these were 3 very nice ones and 1 average but an interesting sitting position. At this point hard sell offered us a refund which we said we would take, she wasn't expecting that, as once again the 'hard sell' was back in evidence, "now we don't want you to go home empty handed do we? If you buy those 4 pictures for £200 you could have 4 free burnt onto your CD also" at this point she was also prepared to email the whole shoot to us, including the contacts list, this I know sounds like a great deal, but honestly there were not another 4 images worth having. Eventually we took the 4 that we liked burnt onto a CD for just an extra £50.
So if you do visit the Blue Rooms do not be bullied into buying photos you don't like, don't part with your hard earned cash for substandard images, Don't lug loads of clothes to London, you don't need them, don't expect a great makeover you won't get one.
Do be aware as a parent you are only there to pay the bill. Do go with an open mind and be aware that the reviews above regarding conditions and hard sell are all true, and I honestly think if you visit a local good photographer you will get much, much more for your money.
To the Blue Rooms Employ photographers, this way you won't need that hard sell, don't talk to your customers like they are stupid, Don't ask the customer to point out obvious bad images and make excuses for the lighting you are supposed to be professionals! Please don't lie to us and one last thing, a constant stream of your staff on the street smoking is off putting even to smokers.

Whats the proof our company is a scam ? A Bunch of articles written by our competitors ? We tell everything about your shoot beforehand and you are not forced to buy anything. Our company is been operating for nearly 12 years now so if we are doing dodgy stuff we would have been shut down right ? You were sold a product and if you are not happy simply contact us anytime on 02073234466 and speak to our customer services. We are more than happy to look into your complaint. Thanks.
I put my 3year old son on this website thinking it was a modelling agency. I got a phone call saying how beautiful my son is and that they had a lot of people interested in my son. They then said they need a £50 deposit and I only hand half an hour to put it down and had to drive from Newcastle down to London by a certain day. I accepted just to read reports that this was a scam so I called back to check that uk model was an agency not a photography place and they reassured me that it was an agency with jobs for my son so I had no more doubt. That was until my partner came home and read online what was being said and was shocked so he instantly called them saying he wanted a refund as it was illegal for a modelling agency to take money off clients just to be told they were only photographers. They said we could have our refund in two weeks, so I called the bank and tried to cancel transaction that way just to hear the have put sone sort of reserve on transaction so i can’t remove it.
I feel heart broken and sick to my stomach that someone can play on a mother emotions for they child to get money out of them. Thank god it’s only £50 they have taken from me not more. I will not be letting this drop until I get my money back.
BUT please please please don’t use this company we need to try and get it closed down.
Thanks
Laura

I also went here on 2nd April, i was expecting, from the flannel i was given in the phone, a fantastic studio with all the people listed on their website, when in fact, there was 1 make up artist, 1 miserable photographer, and 1 sales man..!!!! my daughter is 12 and has never done anything like this before so you can imagine my amazement when i walked through the door to this ‘dump’, they promised 3/4 makeup and clothes changes when in fact she got 2, there was no tea/coffee making facilities which when you are sat there for 3/4 hours i think is disgusting, they asked if we would like to go for a walk around whilst my daughter was having the shoot, what parent in their right mind would leave their daughter in a photo studio alone?!?! i also noticed that each and every other model wannabe got the exact same treatment ie: same makeup and hairstyles (i think she could only do the two)..!!! what a complete and utter disappointment. Saying that, the photos were beautiful.
Please be careful though, their small print states you cannot cancel your order once you leave the building, so be careful before signing.
UK Models is a rip off, it doesnt provide you with work, only the tools to find it yourself. -

I booked a session for my daughter to have her portfolio pictures taken. Before the session I received friendly phone calls and emails reminding me of the day, making me feel as though I had made the right decision in contacting the Blue Rooms.
Before we arrived I expected the place to be very professional, a welcoming model at the front desk in a very nice sexy pencil skirt purhaps, the place to be lit up with spot lights, neon sighns that say this is the Blue Room, a coffee machine, snack bar, all the latest fashion magazines and sample portfolio books to skim through, people wizzing around asking you questions, me being able to ask the staff questions and so on. Insted we walked into what I would describe as a dark dingy whole in the wall, there was hardly a reception nor a receptionist to be found, when she did arrive she looked as though she had just been in the back for a hotdog and a smoke, the crew looked like they’d rather be anywhere else, you just got the over all feeling that you were in a packing company and that we were next on the conveor belt.
My daughter was set for her makeup and hair after a long wait on some cramped up leather couch that looked as if it had been previously used in a porn scene. Her hair did look great but the makeup was way over stated which looked even worse when the pictures turned up. When she was finally asked to go in to take the photos I was told in a sneered way that I couldn’t be involved, fair enough I sat waiting again. I was told that that she would be changing outfits 6-7 times but it was only 4, I was told that the session would last up to 4 hours but it ended up being 2 and half including waiting time. Now this is the worse bit, I was told a head of time that I would be purchasing 10 photos at the cost of £50 each. When we sat down to discuss the photos we were rushed to quickly look at them, to be totaly honest I have taken better pictures on my cheap digital at home. I was told I couldn’t purchase the 10 photos but I had to purchase a package of 12, making this £500. They then choose which photos they want you to have not the ones we wanted. However we could have all the pictures but we would need to go for their emailed website and then they would kindly throw in all the pictures on a disk, “not real photos but a disk”. We were told that this would be a present from them but it would only cost us another £900. We were quickly given all the salesman jargen of how it was the best option, told to sign my life away on the dotted line so that they could take out money from my bank each month, “to make things easier, of course” and we were then sent packing in a mind blowing whirl wind with no photos. We might get these in 6 months time but by then she will have changed in looks and might not even have the pashion for modeling anymore. Great day out ?, you decide

We have paid £1700 for my son’s portfolio. He did not have any make up applied. We want our money back!
Please does anyone know the real price for photo shoots and portfolios? It seems like we greatly overpaid. Can we get our money back?
Please help us with any advice.

I wanted to say a big thank you to the The Blue Rooms studios for helping me with my portfolio.
I was very excited and nervous at first but my photographer really helped me calm down and started to train me from the first shoot till the last. My make up artist was really friendly and matched my hair and my make up with all of my outfits.
The shoot has helped me gain more knowledge on how to pose and more information and insight in to the modeling industry. I am now more confident and have a strong portfolio to confidently approach agencies.
Thank you

I had my shoot at the Bluerooms which was arranged through Diesel Models. I was surprised to get a phone call back after applying and I was worried about the comments I read online before I went, but I;m glad I was open minded enough to go and see for myself. It was really good and I loved every minute of it. I had a successful shoot and purchased my portfolio. I;m really happen even if I only have the images to look back on and show to my gran kids "hey granny really was a dish once.
I think that £500 for any good professional images is a bargain. You can easily pay twice as much as that for top quality images. You should use them and not let them go to waste.

I was sent to the Blue rooms and its was great. I;m not sure why you assume its a scam, everyone who goes there knows that the only cost to you would be the professional images at the end. I had an amazing day with all the staff, and was really happy with my hair and make-up throughout. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get the chance to go outside for a location shoot but I can hardly blame them for the whether.

I just took my 12 year old daughter today to the blue rooms. First of the make-up was gery good, my daughter loved everything. Her photographer was nice she said he was very welcoming. The photos looked amazing and I loved al of them my daughter also likes them aswell. Alltogether it was a great experience but the cost was £500, i was truthful with our viewer we said is this a scam and she was staright up with us she said we have to pay installements to make things easier. So now i have to pay 6 installments every month. Im a bit scared though that my daughter wont get work in the end but i guess you just have to take a risk since it's oyur daughter. Everyone has there opinion about diseal models & the blue rooms. I also thought it was a scam at first but all together its not. I luv the Blue Rooms. Thank you! :)
