I finally found this place today! I’d been walking past it without noticing it for a while, which is a shame because it really is a great little shop. I had the lamb and mint pie to take away. They give you wooden cutlery if you take away, although it’s much more fun to attempt to eat it with your fingers!
They do some nice drinks: fruit juice, flavoured waters and elderflower type drinks. A nice change from Coke or Sprite, although you pay for it.
A popular deal seems to be pie, mash and gravy for £5.95, and you can get various sides for a bit more, so you can customise your meal. My pie to take away cost around £3.75, but this wasn’t clearly displayed, so it was a bit embarrassing to ask. It seems expensive, but the pies are very good quality and well worth it for a treat (not much more than a sandwich, crisps and cake from a high street shop or a panini from a cafe).
