Popped in here as part of a CAMRA day trip. Enjoyed the ales and also the food. I had the Lincolnshire sausage whirl (sausages are a speciality here) which was good and so was the mash and gravy.
Can't remember the ale I had as by this time I was too "relaxed" to write it down. Also very impressive building with its ornate fixtures and fittings. Great resource for Leeds.
This is a proper pub!!
Great to see places like this still exist.
Good to see they are having live music on too.
I usually meet friends here over the Christmas period.
It is situated right behind Leeds Town Hall so it is very central. The perfect place to go on a Saturday afternoon whilst out shopping or something like that.
The features in this place are amazing I guess going back to early in the last century, all the glass panelling and high ceilings, not like the modern pubs of today.

I have often gone here for private functions where we have had a private room booked. It is a great spot for the start of your night, located in walking distance from the LGI,Oceana and much more.
Through the day you can get really great affordable food. On an evening it soon packs up and you can enjoy some really good music with your friends.

Really great place to visit. After work, lunchtime, it's all good. Nice booths, food is average, plenty of better places near by, just concentrate on the beer here. Within 2 minutes of the Leeds General Infirmary, on call doctors - your bleeps will still work in here, trust me.

I agree with the other reviewers - superb pub. Lovely decor, tasty ales, and the jazz is really good too. I seem to have always wound up here every time I've been to Leeds.

Excellent traditional pub. Plenty of good beers and apparently, although I haven't sampled it myself, good pub grub. Best of all though is the excellent jazz every Thursday night starting around 9.15 with Brendan Duffy on saxaphone and a fairly regular line up of talented local musicians - and it's free!

The Victoria is one of my favourite pubs in central Leeds. On a Thursday, they have an excellent free live jazz band, featuring 'Bones' on percussion who is still rocking at 80. There is a large range of bitters on tap, and you can actually get a pint of Tetley's mild here, along with regular well rotated guest ales. The interior is lovely and trad, plenty of mirrors and brass, and lovey boothed seating. Great pub.
