London Marriott Hotel, Marble Arch

Really a fabulous hotel and well situated n the hub of the West End. the hotel offers comfy rooms and an excellent menu either in the restaurant or room service. Step outside into Edgware Road and enjoy the many lebanese restaurants or take a stroll to marble Arch and the beginning of the buzz of Oxford Street .The only downside was there was no internet access in my room-so I dropped a star.

I actually went there with some friends recently who were celebrating a eighteenth birthday and it was really marvellous. We actually had dinner in the 140 Park Lane Restaurant and not only was the food divine-cooked in a innovative way at the head of our table but the wines were just superb. The service was attentive but unobstrusive and the surroundings plush and very luxurious-it was an effort for me to get out of those very comfortable armchair like seats.

This tall tower of a hotel is located just off Edgware road in London. It's a fabulous location because it is very near Paddington and is also a walking distance to Oxford Street and Hyde Park. The rooms are smallish but this is standard for a central London hotel. The food is excellent with several Arabic dishes on the menu. If you choose not to eat in, there are plenty of small eateries nearby. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The bedding especially is fabulous - you don't feel like getting out of bed in the morning. The service is good and the health club and pool, though small, are adequate. Overall, it a very good hotel and an excellent base for a trip to London.

Note that this is not the Marriott you see when you come out of the Marble Arch station. For reasons of their own, that one's called the Marriott Park Lane.
