Went for lunch. Dined from the full AlC rather than the business 3 course (interestingly all served at the same time) that looked excellent value for money, as we were on holiday. Most of the other diners appeared to opt for this business option.
Lovely bright room, and comfortable, with pleasant if not engaging staff with the exception of the lead who was exceptionally pleasant.
We discovered that there is a second wine list, so ask for it, though the ones we chose from the main list were quite acceptable and not outlandishly priced.
The restaurant is a homage to Albert, and we were told he interacts continuously with it to maintain the menu's.
It certainly had an authentic French feel in the offerings.
Our party agreed that everything was very good, some dishes even being superlative, and we will go again, (indeed have done with success) definitely worth visiting if you go anywhere near Inverness.
Dined here recently to celebrate my 40th birthday with my partner. We were really looking forward to it, but unfortunately were both left very dissapointed. The hotel was everything we expected the staff pleasant and helpful only the food let it down. My terrine starter was very tasted great if a little to chilled for my taste my partners smoked haddock tart with a poached egg seemed to be missing the haddock. I had fish of the day and while the bisque it was served in was delicious the fish was over cooked. My partner chose the beef shin as a main course. To say it was bland was an understatement. There was very little or no seasoning on either the shin or the vegetables which in fact tasted reheated. And no gravy just a thin tasteless jus. Dessert was the cheese board which was served to the table with all the cheeses being explained by a very knowledgeable member of staff. This was unfortunately spoiled when we had to wait 15 minutes for the bistcuits to arrive. On the plus side the wine we chose was very nice. On the whole we both left feeling very dissappointed with the whole experience or maybe we just expected too much from a restaurant which prides itself from have a michelin starred chef as its consultant.
