strengthofabear: “Came here on New Years Day for Lunch with Ruiz and others, ended up staying till 11pm. Good jukebox. Helpful staff. Nice beer garden. Good location. Food was very average, standard pub stuff at best and not a lot of choice.” more...4 reviews of The Camden Head in English
Thought this was very overpriced, despite a decent beer selection. Pretty busy at the weekends with nowhere to sit or stand, really. Nothing much to encourage repeat visits.
Having only been once I can’t really give too many details about what it’s like day to day, but so far yesterday evening goes it was a very nice little boozer to kick back in and watch as Chelsea drained the flamboyancy out of Barcelona.
The staff were very polite if arguably a tad disorganised but the atmosphere in the place was very good and it had football on (which is a rare and valuable commodity in camden).
It’s also ideally located for pre-drinks/meeting up before heading to KOKO.
Go here a bit when visiting Camden for a quick coffee and surf.
Free Wifi which is good if you need a place to log-on.
Sunday roasts are quite good, and always plenty of room to sit and hang with large groups of friends.
Pleasantness of staff can be a bit hit or miss, though.
Seems to be popular with older local people too, which is comforting. No frills slighty-trendified pub.
Quite a cool little place on the main drag of Camden High Street. I was only drinking here because the Crown and Goose was closed whilst preparing for New Years Eve. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see Adams seasonal 'Yuletide' ale on tap, which is a lovely dark malty brew. The seating is comfy enough and the service was good.
