I first visited Mulberry Tree was on Christmas Day this year. The Mulberry Tree has a fabulous reputation for doing very good food, and is situated in the very pretty heart of Birstall village. The Mulberry Tree also overlooks Watermead Country Park.
Although the Mulberry Tree sounds like a pub, and in some respects is a pub, the main emphasis is on the high quality food in the fantastic restaurant. I was suitably impressed. having taken risks with my Christmas dinner in the past and been disapointed I did have my concerns. However they were entirely unwarranted. The food was fantastic, as was the service, the decor and the super friendly staff. Even better was the fact that it was so very well priced, especially as it was for drinks as well as a three course meal. All four of us were pleased with the food. I enjoyed generous portion of goats cheese, with brushetta and salad, followed by delicious, well cooked Monkfish. The seasonal vegetables were perfectly on the bite with more than enough to go around. The desert of Ginger cheesecake was fantastic, whilst the Chocolate Bavarois was utterly divine too!
If you are in the area you must visit the Mulberry Tree, fabulous food at exceptional prices! YUM!
Oh and before I forget the coffee blows your head off - excellent!!
