Hilton London Kensington

Great place, with fine atmospehere…highly recommend

One of the better Hiltons in London, fairly small rooms but the service is excellent and the decor is new and fresh. Immaculately clean. Better than Paddington, Hyde Park or Olympia Hiltons as far as West London goes.

You can get very good late deals on this hotel if you look in the right places.

Edit: downgraded to 8/10 due to getting a very poor room recently despite being a returning guest.

Good hotel for location and value. Stones through from shepherds bush tube and westfield shopping centre.
Now the standard rooms have been refurbished that removes my only complaint.

Apart from the fact that you cannot take off the shower head, which isn't really great if you're 1,85m tall, the Hilton Kensington was a great starting point for extended sightseeing tours in the city especially as there're good bus and tube connections to and from there. The direct surroundings aren't that great and yet - pubs and restaurants with breakfast and dinner are easy to find. The rooms are quite (!) small but the beds comfortable :). Tip: book online so it gets affordable.

I approve of this Hilton in comparison to the Olympia one. It was a Friday afternoon and it was easy to book a double room via phone . I found that this hotel was popular in comparison to the Olympia version, however this time round I was going during the Christmas season so maybe that was the reason why. Although, we booked for a double room, the room was as big as the bed. The bathroom was smaller, but sufficient. It was a little more cosier and I preferred it. There was not much difference in terms of décor like the Olympia branch, but maybe that was because of the size of the room. Maybe the blankets were warmer as well. The breakfast buffet was inclusive and very nice. You could eat as much as you want and it never ran out. I enjoyed my one night stay overall and found it was very civilised. I believe this hotel was a tiny bit more pricier than the Olympia version, but you were paying for the location, which is essentially Kensington and Chelsea, the most expensive area in the UK, and Notting Hill Gate is only 20 minutes walk. However, I found that the walk to Holland Park station was 10 minutes long and honestly, that's too long. You better make sure you take the bus or have a good conversationalist to pass the time quick.
