Ive ridden there a couple of times and was always put on a horse that was very lazy maybe just my bad luck! I didn't get anything from my lessons but frustration for this reason! I am a horse owner and have many years of experience and I really struggled to get the horse to move! But like I said maybe my bad luck! The instructor I had at the time was very good and the place has exellent facilities!

Unimpressed. This stables was very unorganised, none of the staff seemed to know what was going on. I wasn't made to feel welcome at all, just listened to staff argue about it being their day off so they shouldn't have to sort anything out.
Teaching was average, could have been better if instructors were teaching rather than chatting to each other at start of lesson.
The horse I rode was good though, fit and healthy- looked in great condition.

Ok stables not the best, I phonesd a stables called jacks, but they don't do lessons anymore just hacks and leads. So they recommended littlebourne farm and abbey fields. At littlebourne the horses were nice. The staff were alright but not over friendly, more interested in getting the money. The kids up there what help out, swore a lot and this is what put me off. So I tried out abbey fields this weekend and I would recommend them to anyone, great place.

Really nice place. Belongs to a Lady Caroline Dent, a horse fan (but it's no business, more a club open to the public). The essential is there, gear on loan, a club house with a small food joint...
Horses are nice (fit, well behaved), prices are decent (see their website), instructors competent (as far as I can judge :-)
Within the Green Belt with access to nearby woods and fields.
Can be reached by bus from Northwood.

stableboy, 20 July 2012:Littlebourne is one of of the biggest riding schools in the area and all the staff our quailfied, Horses are all decent. and there is a wide selection of horses, Arenas are amazing and now they have brought a indoor school it the best in the area…
staff are very friendly and they know what they are on about not like Jack Riding Stables on Fore Street in Pinner or AbbeyFields who lost their riding school liencene as they were not abiding by the horse wealfare

If they were such an awful riding school why are they BHS approved and a Pony Club centre! Shame on you for trying to bad mouth other riding schools in the area!!
