Comment: A very small, slightly dingy, but very endearing pub near Barbarossaplatz square. You can stand or sit by the bar. At the back there are another two-and-a-half tables.
The Metronom’s furnishings remind you of a typical corner pub. Brown in colour and on top of that, even more tarnished from the smoke. Only the photos of jazz musicians on the walls give you a hint that this could be something entirely different.
What really makes this place, are the jazz records that are played here. Their crackling sound makes for a cool, cozy atmosphere, which is an absolute treat.
They serve all kinds of drinks. The very friendly barman will add a shot of freshly squeezed lemon to your gin and tonic, giving it an almost unexpected fresh taste. Most importantly, you’ll never be without a drink. Given the small size of the pub, the attentive staff is always close at hand.
All in all, a wonderful pub to sit back in and chat.
