As a supporter of local independent shops, I went shopping in East Dulwich and amongst other things bought a bracelet for a friend in Celestial as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, it was too big and yesterday was the first chance she had to return it.

I am absolutely aware that it is the prerogative of a shop keeper whether they offer any return options unless an item is faulty. However, it is normal practice to offer a credit note or a replacement item at the same cost or higher. It was made very clear to my friend by the woman in the shop (Manager/Owner) that she would not receive a credit note as it was after 28 days.

There was nothing in the shop at that time that was a suitable exchange and due to the off-hand attitude of the senior staff, my friend was adamant that she would not spend one penny more and walked out of the shop with an item she can’t wear and a very bad taste in her mouth.

It amazes me that in this time of financial uncertainty and a diminishing high street, this kind of dire customer service can prevail. Clearly I will never shop there again, nor will any of my friends. Hopefully the owners will read this and mend their ways.

PS: I tried to contact them for their response but couldn’t find an email address.

Spent over £500 here over past six months. Took a ring back for making finger green ...within 48 hours. Was told 'what did I expect for £40?" "You are not going to get real metal for that" and 'It looks very worn". Bloody outrageous argh!!! Taking business elsewhere, cheeky b** grrrr

I so want to like this shop but every time I leave it I’m muttering under my breath in annoyance. On the surface everything about it is great - it’s in the lower end of Lordship Lane, perfect for browsing in after brunch, it sells interesting and quirky clothes designs, cute jewellery and pretty knick knacks and it has the decor is gorgeous. There’s a dressing-up-box feel about the place that I really enjoy and there’s always something interesting to look at but there’s a problem: every time I see something I like in there and peek at the price tag I have to laugh out loud in astonishment.

Of course I appreciate that nice things cost money, and I’d rather buy clothes from a smaller shop that has control over its sourcing. But I suppose we all have our tipping points, and the majority of the goods for sale in Celestial are over mine. I’d pay up to £60 on a dress that was take-your-breath-away fantastic but until this shop slices about £20 off every expensive item my money will be staying in my pocket.

A little den to get lost in, fantastic and unusual range of gifts and great for accessories. The jewellery is certainly different to the norm!

This is a very nice shop based in lordship lane, east dulwich.
It a small run business, boutique type shop selling various items, from jewellery to bags to lingerie to bath essentials, great for you women out there. They even once sold a top exactly from what sienna miller wore, it was a boho top. You will find many other beautiful products in the shop and I love to visit there every week. So always save up some cash!!! The bags they use are wonderful its recycled newspaper bags and it looks so chic and nice, got a collection.
