The Talbot Inn

We were at The Talbot Inn as part of a large party. The building is a mix of old (the bar area has very low beams) and new (the restaurant). Our party was in a modern section overlooking the gardens which was pleasant, although using pinned butterflies for decoration is a bit strange, as the rest of the decor is modern.
The service was prompt, although as a large party, we had pre-ordered our food, so that was a help.
The food was good, with a reasonable kids menu too.
A pleasant afternoon was had by all.

We live in Ripley so have eaten at the Talbot several times. It’s an old coaching inn with a bar which is everything you would expect from a place where Nelson used to stay including great beers.
The restaurant has a glass wall onto a terrace garden. Lovely in the summer. Food always good.
They are also great supporters of the village. They even do a free coffee morning every Thursday!
