The pub quiz night was torture. The 40 questions took a good two and a half hours; current UK news being the main topic. The quiz master watched a film on his iPad while we had to wait for the next round of questions. At the end there was a lot of shouting and extremely loud music.

Had a great time at our Christmas party, they were all very attentive and organized and the food was great had a cheeky taste of my friends duck which was probably even better than my turkey if I'm honest! Also the Harvey's tasted great so I managed to sink a few of those no problem. The staff were a good laugh so we've decided to go there again tonight. Hope we have as much fun as the last time

We had our work Christmas do here last night and I thought it was excellent.

There were 60 of us for a sit down meal and i couldn't fault the service, the staff are excellent and were really accommodating.

We pre ordered our menu which is essential for that many people. The set Xmas menu was really good with lots of choices and the lamb that I had was delicious and cooked to perfection. Apparently the cod was really good as well. My only disappointment was that I was too full up to really the enjoy chocolate fondant.

All in all a good night was had by all. Thank you Queen Adelaide for putting everyone in the Christmas spirit

Overpriced mediocre food. Terrible service. Rude and unhelpful.

Was promised on the phone a table for 20ppl for dinner. Ended up with a very cramped table in the bar area, had to ask 4 different staff members if we could have menus and order food, only to be passed on to the next person. Food was a bit try and came missing trimmings that were on the menu, and starters and mains arrived together.

Thoroughly undeserving of my time and money.

Not a bad pub at all - the food is good, it's an impressive space, they have lots of comfy seating, nice decor, and a reasonable selection of drinks.

You can also make Sock Monkey's on Sunday's here.

However for some reason I really can't get enthusiastic about this place.

As it's very open with high ceilings, when it's busy it can get a little noisy, and I feel uncomfortable as the window's are so big without any curtains or drapes, so it's hard to feel homely. I just keep getting the feeling (not dissimilar to when you've just have moved to a new house and you haven't unpacked yet), that people outside can stare in at me and I'm not settled, and with this feeling I just can't relax here.

Although this pub is closer to where we live, and although I have to get a bus to get there, we tend to go that extra distance and go to the Duchess of Cambridge, which has a much more laid back feel.

Not a bad place, people are friendly, It's just not my cup of tea.

The QA, what a great pub.  Most of the staff are really friendly & the managers seem to know everyone that walks though the door - something I haven't seen in a decent pub in London for years.

We were delighted when the QA had it's refurbishment several years ago & it's gone from strength to strength.

They always have a great selection of ales, my husband is especially fond of the Harvey's & always raves on about how well it's kept.

A great pub, I'm very lucky to have it as a local!

A great local pub, good crowd, friendly staff. I’ve had brunch, lunch and dinner here and would recommend it. Have weekly quiz night, book club and byo wine nights.

Recently refurbed, and so a number of reviews below don't entirely do it justice. No more is it TexMex Burgers and terrifying QPR fans: it's been sympathetically done-up to expose the wood flooring, add some artistically frayed leather sofas, lovely lighting, and an outside smoking area fenced off from the Uxbridge Road madness by some nicely maintained hedging.

The food when we visited was great, if pricey. I ate a roasted squash stuffed with other roast winter veg - my partner's sunday roast chicken was colossal. Really chilled out bar staff and a nice vibe - it could have been a pretentious disaster but it's actually a really pleasant place to hang out.

This is the latest of a few gastro-furbs in the area, and one that has definitely worked. The Adelaide has a great interior, that is not so posh as to be 'hotel bar’ and still has a bit of spit and sawdust. Great fireplace feature, nice ramshackle mix of furnishings and the hallowed dining area… which is thankfully quite small and unimposing. The staff are great, really unpretentious bunch, and the bar food is excellent: cheese plates for not-too-stupid money, massive prawns and bread for a fiver and home made scotch eggs. More relaxed option than the Princess Victoria and more chilled than Defectors - look forward to some other nights in here, and more of those lovely prawns. yum.

This is quite a fun place to enjoy a heary meal. Not only is the food good, the atmosphere is really brilliant. You can be entertained with music on weekends or even make your own sweet (or not so sweet) music on a thursday karaoke night! Great place to bring your friends and have a laugh!

Review of Queen Adelaide from 14 January 2008

Sunday afternoon saw us bravely going in a new direction. We headed west down the Uxbridge Road rather than east, to find a spot of lunch.

We hardly went 100 yards before being embroiled with choice. The Adelaide Cafe looked like a promising classic greasy spoon but we walked in and were told it was closed. So much for their 'all day' breakfast.

Opposite stood proudly the Queen Adelaide. A bit of googling has informed me that 'Queen' Adelaide was William IV's Queen Consort. So she was an early 19th Century Camilla. Of sorts.

I can't ever imagine either ladies frequenting the Queen Adelaide. It is a bit of a classic London boozer, with the locals drinking from a fairly early time and looking miserable through much of the day while staring bitterly into their pint.

It might be a bit more lively in the evenings - the notice board above the bar proclaims weekly delights like karaoke, a quiz, darts competitions and the like.

We went for lunch. One round of two beers was over a fiver, so it's not cheap. The menu is Wetherspoonsy - burgers and pasta for around a fiver a dish.

We both had the Texas BBQ steak burger. Mine was a huge disappointment. I don't expect alot of £5.25 but a shrivelled chunk of fatty sinew is never what I would describe as "steak". Additionally it took over 30 minutes and nobody else was eating so the kitchen couldn't have been busy.

Might be worth another look at a different time and without food as it's quite a nice building with large windows, fireplaces and that sort of stuff.
