Love, love, LOVE this place!

Yes, it’s pricey. Yes, it’s always busy. But once you are seated and settled none of that matters.

The food is yummy and straight forward; think hot dogs with fries, burgers etc and the milk shakes are out of this world!

A fun place to come while shopping or late at night (I think they are open until 1am).

Whatever you do, just once in your life try the banana and peanut butter milkshake. Your life won’t ever be the same again.

A great little diner, not much seating and always busy.

I’m not a milkshake fan, but I love their burgers, cheesy fries and beer or a diet coke.

Mini jukeboxes on the bar, which add to the American diner feel.

Fast service, value for money.

Do not eat in Ed’s Diner if u like a lot of food and value for money.

We went there thinking its a nice looking American diner, and knowing its American that you get a lot of food for your money, how wrong we were.

we ordered 2 burgers, 1 chips and 2 drinks and it came to £30 and the portions we stupidly small.

the burgers were burnt in places and they automatically add a service charge on the bill.

we refused to pay the service charge as its says its optional on the bill, and they made a point about it so we will never be visiting the restaurant again./

For God’s sake sit at the counter and select Roy Orbison’s Indian Love song aka Indian Wedding, last time I was in it cost 20p. Instantly the sound of new year’s eve parties at Brown’s house flood into my head. The burgers do not come with chips, so factor that into the cost. Chips are big but the ketchup is frankly weird and the mustard as timid as a virgin at a rodeo. Why not just go to burgerking? I’ll tell you my friend. That’s what that one would do. He’d go to burgerking. You are at Ed’s so you can play Indian Love song on the jukebox and have a huge thick shake full of booze that will knock you on your btm for a month. Heart attack in a glass. Lovely.

The milkshakes are fantastic (especially peanut butter and banana!), and give you a pick-me-up to help you carry on with your shopping. The food is also great but a bit on the expensive side for average burgers and fries.

Usually it’s packed so it’s best to grab a milkshake and go; for some reason you get a lot less in the takeaway milkshake though (for the same price..)

My only other complaint is that the last time I visited I was forced to pay the service charge despite receiving poor service and was shouted at out the window as I was leaving the shop to inform me of this. It’s has put me off eating there but sometimes I still pop in for a milk shake.

I love it, you feel like you are in 50’s america, sat at the bar ordering a burger and a shake, like stepping into a time warp.
The food is reasonable value, it’s a bit greasy, but that’s the sort of food diners serve. It’s all clean with good fast service.

A real slice of American cool, this tiny diner is worth a visit for the retro tunes and fabulous milkshakes!
Hellishly busy at the weekends, but great fun, the burgers and fries are cooked to perfection and served with a smile.

Prices are a little bit steep, however you’re definately paying for the expereince as well. We also found some discount vouchers through an online search, which eased the bill total slightly.

Tasty food and a fun place to try. If you can’t afford a trip to the US, Ed’s will take you there in an instant!

A 1950’s themed diner in the heart of the London. The best thing about this place are the milkshakes! They are so delicious! The diner is very small and can be cramped and noisy but it is great for a quick novelty meal. Good value for money too.

What a fantastic place to eat. The food’s great but the atmosphere is even better because the place is the kind of retro diner you normally only dream of visiting. It’s not a huge place but that doesn’t matter, they decorated every inch with red plastic and metallic goodness. The food is the kind you’d expect from a retro diner - burgers, fries, etc.
Be sure to try the cookies & peanut butter milkshake - it sounds dreadfull but it’s divine.

I’ve been to my fair share of authentic diners in California and although Ed’s doesn’t really match up on “all american service”, the burgers are great and the atmosphere spot on. I was very tempted to try the “oreo cookie milkshake”, but i managed to hold back. Man, i should have tried that milkshake! The burgers are very tasty (and pretty cheap too) and it was great see heinz ketchup and French’s American mustard perched on the counter ready to be squirted over my chips and burger. All in all a very good lunch.

My only feedback to Ed’s would be -

1. Don’t charge me 50p extra for free refills. Come on, it’s 50p! This would never happen in the US.

2. As mentioned above, the only thing i felt let down by was the service. Ok, ok, i’m not going to get a 65 year old, mid western lady with a cigarette hanging from her lips shouting back into the kitchen for “2 hogsnots with the works and a couple a’ boilermakers”, but i was at least expecting a bit of American cheers and customer service. Don’t get me wrong, the service wasn’t bad, it just didn’t feel right.

All in all, tasty burgers, great music, killer location and definitely worth stopping by if you are craving a burger in Soho.

Altogether now - “Goodbye grey sky, hello blue. There’s nothing can hold me when I hold you. Feels so right, it can’t be wrong. Rockin’ and rollin’ all week long. ...”

Yeah - this place is a must.

Fun place to take visitors: we took a friend from Zimbabwe’s daughter there.

Haute cusine it is not: just a fun American diner with fun authentic decor. Check the website. The burgers are actually made out of real meat, and boy is that a change these days!

If you want to go somewhere after the theatre, it is ideally situated.

I was a bit disappointed last time that they were no longer serving freshly-pressed orange juice, because that was another thing that made it special. I hope they track this down on the Net and get the message. ;-))

Love it here.

This place is excellently situated for a hot meal before or after a visit to the theatre, cinema or Soho.

It gets busy really easily but the turn around is very quick.

The portions are ample and the food is always piping hot.

You HAVE to try their malts ;0)

As fast turn around burger bars go you cannot beat Ed’s - I especially love the traditional American Diner decor.

This is my business

Here’s How

Follow this simple 5-point routine:

Sit > Order > Enjoy > Pay > Go

Don’t be surprised if you find all our seats full. Don’t Panic

Just look for the first empty plate…… then jump.

You won’t have to wait long, we promise. Our service is fast.

Anyhow, the experience will be worth waiting for.

Here’s What

Fancy it isn’t, but Ed’s serves burgers the way used to be. Our burgers are fresh, made to order and delicious. You can stack them up whatever takes your fancy like onions, cheese, chilli, bacon, egg or guacamole.

Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about the fries. You can have regular fries, chilli fries, cheese fries or wet fries. Don’t feel like fries - then how about our crispy battered onion rings?

If you’re a healthnik there’s even something for you too. How about our wholesome veggie burger? It’s catabolic and it’s good.

Our original shakes and malts are something else. Made with premium Italian ice cream, we even give you an extra serving on the side.

And not forgetting the rest of the drinks. We have American coffee, Coke in glass bottles, American beers for that true American diner experience.

What Else?

What else do you need?

Music. There’s pure 50s Rock ‘n’ Roll courtesy of our original table-top Seeburg 100 Wallamatic juke boxes. Simply drop 20p in (it’s the closest we could get to a dime) and pick your favourite tune. You’ll be singing along with our staff in no time!

Best place for a quick burger in Soho if you want to avoid the fast food. It’s a really small, horseshoe shape of a diner, so can get really crowded but is always lively and fun.

It can be quite expensive because you have to order burger and fries separately but food doesn’t take too long to arrive and always tastes good.

Go for the Oreo shake. Amazing and totally illegal.

My four stars go to the yumminess of everything I ate yesterday afternoon pre-Euro08 final. I was so hungry and wanted exactly what I got - a fresh cheese burger straight off the griddle, comforting gooey chilli cheese fries, and the opportunity to wash it down with a thick oh-so-sweet oreo shake. Oh lord. Cute 1950’s-themed restaurant, but tiny, the service was great, with smiles all round, and super-fast food. I resented the high prices, but then again, I did’t want to eat a rubbery cheap McD’s burger. My 'Cheese on Cheese’ Burger was on the small side, compared to my favorites in NYC, however, I think Ed’s burgers are just as good, if not, better tasting!
Yum yum yum, I will be craving Ed’s next time I find myself in Soho. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We ran into Ed’s as a last minute feed before we were heading to the theatre, and it was so much fun we thought we were in a classic 60s American movie!

The head waiter running the joint had the whole accent “Wha can ah(I) do fo ya lovely people?” and so we went the full hog - fries, burgers, and yeah - the peanut butter milk shake!

It’s authentic, fun and quite good value for money. And we loved the jukebox :-)

Small american diner in Soho, just off Charing Cross Rd. Every star I rate on this one goes for the heavenly sweet butterscotch milkshakes - to die for. If you want a delicious milkshake, this is the place.

Despite that fact that I’m a vegetarian and try and avoid fast food restaurants at all cost I have been returning to Eds Diner for years, the reason for this, simple the milkshakes, not just any milkshake mind you, but heaven in a glass.

Decorated in the style of a 1950s diners Eds serves quality American fast food. My weakness has long been the peanut butter and banana shake, a smooth concoction of milk, peanuts sugar and pure joy. You probably wont even need to order a meal once you have ordered one of these beauties, as they are so thick and filling you will be undoing the top button of your jeans within a couple of slurps.

If you don’t get as excited about milkshakes as I do then try one of the many burger on offer, made with fresh ingredients and fries on the side you will be sure to be left stuffed, if not a little plumper. If your feeling extra hungry treat yourself to some cheesy fries, terribly synthetic but gorgeous to the taste buds.

A meal for two with drinks should set you back no more then 20 pound.

For anyone who finds themselves lost in Soho craving a burger and fries they could do worse than to visit Ed’s Easy Diner on Old Compton Street.

Not the biggest of venues it does boast an authentic menu and milkshakes to die for, superb for that morning after feeling.

Not the best or the most refined food in the world but it’ll do the trick and the service is nothing but polite.
